as above realy, got a standard rcd300 i think it is, got amp and sub from out car but dont noe if this head unit has pre outs, can any1 help?
-
I have a rns510 and would like to know this!

No, its not. Only mfd2 has preouts with additional cable. You must use LOC adapters ( like Audiocontrol lc6 or similar ) or amp with high level inputs like Blaupunkt pnp. In any cases, rcd300 is horrible. RNS310,510 are the huge improvement.

There are adapters you can buy which can use The speaker outputs as sub phone inputs. I've seen a guy have a sub with his rns 510. Not sure how he gets the remote wire signal to trigger the amp to come on. Unless he has a separate switch for that

Remote can be taken from cig lighter. Some premium loc adapters has remote cable option.

Im in a similar situation at the moment too
Ive fitted a RNS510 in to my mk5, Ive been looking into this for a few weeks as the last thing I want to do is blow the new unit up, so the answer is to buy a High level adaptor/convertor which as rightly said above u connect the unit to your speakers, remote wire can be picked from the climate control unit too.
The most important thing to me is that you must buy an AMP that has an adjustable bass/sub level control as the RNS510 does not have them controls.
Hope that helps mate

Just to add to that, some amps have a long cable which runs from the amp to the dash area which has a adjustable knob to control the amp gain level. My kicker amp had this. Very useful if you have a boot install where it's hard to access the amp.

Or fit the Blaupunkt Plug and Play Amps :happy2: THA475 for example.
