Post by: Mertyvw on June 25, 2012, 10:31:33 am
Hi all i recently took my car in to the garage as it has been making a rattaling noise at the gearbox once the clutch is down  noise disappears when its up it comes back anyways after asking a lot of people on the forum i soon found out that it was the DMF, as i have parts and labour warranty with AA they decided to say that they wont  cover it because its wear and tear. So the bill £1320 has gone up my ass reall deep.

the work thats gona be done is...
New DMF
New Clutch Kit
New Lay Shaft Bearing
Some new other bearings for the Gearbox
And some other parts of the Gearbox and the CLutch kIT
Recondition The gearbox and Labour

6hours of labour x£60ph

:(((((((

exactly, put in Sachs or South Bend SMF for that money and it will sort you out for miles and years
the hours seems about right, when mine was fitted it was 5 hours etc

I dont know. The garage told me that they going to use high quality parts. Either LUK or SACHS depending on the dmf. They did say they could give cheaper option. But as i want to keep the car for long years i left them do the quality job

I think the boys above are thinking you could have an uprated, stronger clutch for that money!  :surprised: Well worth it if you remap it and think of going further. If no plans to remap it then you're still guaranteed a strong clutch that should last many many more miles than a standard clutch.  :happy2:
