Post by: DanoGTI on May 25, 2009, 03:51:49 pm
Been looking at this - HERE (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vw-ipod-mp3-adaptor-3-5mm-jack-plug_W0QQitemZ160331629508QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_Cabling_ET?hash=item25548283c4&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A2|294%3A50)

Will it work? just plug into rear of the stereo, and off we go?

Just an update - plugged this cable in (thanks to the great FAQ)... however, can't get it to activate.

I thought you just had to press "CD" twice to enable the aux function......

There is a black connector in the packet - an 18-pin black block connector - I didn't actually see where this could go though.

Am I missing something?

On the genuine iPod kits, it needs a wire from the loom splicing into it.

The instructions are on Google, it may be worth looking at that.

I've got the distinct impression that the cable won't work on its own.

Which is a bit annoying as I took the dash to pieces to install this cable!!LOL!!

Shame as all I want to do is listen to my Ipod - I'm not going to spend much as I'm saving for my new HU..... no point in spending money unnecessarily.....

Any thoughts on how to get this cable working?

Dan :)
