Title: These PS2's are fine for the MK5 aren't they?
Post by: berg on June 25, 2012, 09:16:56 pm
225/40R18 92Y XL (MO) TL

I know the MO stands for Mercedes OEM but TT (Sean) said fine for the MK5.

XL denotes extra load but what does this mean in reality? What does the TL mean?

These are available from Camskill by the way.

Thanks.

IXl means they can take more weight,ie a tyre is made of 4 bands where as a xl  is 5 bands
TL means tube less

MO means Mercedes Only. i know that using Porsche tyres on cars that aren't Porsches does funny things to the handling but this is something i've read in one of T_T's posts so if he's given it the thumbs up then maybe it's not an issue. however i'd imagine that running Merc tyres on your VAG car would not make your insurance company very happy if heaven forbid you were involved in a smash.

one to be avoided imho.

so in your professional opinion, they are ok to use?

I hear what you say too Sub so certainly would not go ahead and fit without full investigation first.
