Chilli Peppers are up there for live performances!! First saw them about 20 years ago in a club in Brighton and didn't lose anything when they got BIG and moved to the stadiums!!
-

.
Favourite Band: The Rolling Stones.

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8riri_the-rolling-stones-sympathy-for-the_music
Other favourites include Prince, Led Zeppelin, War, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, and many more.
-

Lots more favourites but Prince is still the best.
-
^^^^
Yep, I agree - I think Prince is a genius. Have you ever seen him perform live? :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
-
Bit of a mix for me.
Top of my artist list; Elton John, sublime in my view.
Better vocalist and piano player than some give him credit for. IMHO.
Then in no particular order: Faithless, Prodigy, Manics, Foos, Queen.
-
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble

Unfortunally I didn't have the luck to see him live.

Faithless in particular alas they are no more. I also really like 80's/90's stuff a lot so bands like Simple Minds, The Human League and New Order. Can't put my finger on why - it's just stuff that gets me nodding my head, tapping my feet and sometimes I get me air drumsticks out!
-
Pearl Jam are probably my favourite band. At the moment I'm listening to The Shins and The Walkmen's most recent albums. Interpol are a favourite, I like too much bands to mention them all.

-

-
I have never admitted this in public before but;
Nickelback
-
Band : PWEI
Why : Like a 10 ton truck, don't give a f**k, and if you don't like the poppies thats your hard luck.
It might be my age but I genuinely have absolutely no idea what ANY of this means!!
What does PWEI stand for? And your reason why are a large multi wheeled vehicle, intercourse (or lack of according to your statement) and a flower used in remembrance for the fallen.
-
PWEI = Pop Will Eat Itself
-
I have never admitted this in public before but;
Nickelback
....Chad Kroeger of Nickelback with Carlos Santana:
And whoever Santana plays with he is always good :notworthy:

....The first band I ever saw was Aretha Franklin. And then Ike & Tina Turner in the same year. That's over 40 years ago. How old do you think that makes me feel?

Aretha and Tina, that's just greedy in one year. Aretha's voice singing "Respect" is something special. :notworthy:

....Michael Jackson and Prince in the same week, Rolling Stones backstage pass, and many other very special memories of many various concerts. I think that as in motorsport, my generation had much greater access. I wish I had taken photos!
-
There is a lot of love for the late 80's/early 90's going on here. I think that says a lot about the average age of mk5 GTI owners :) like many others my faves are:
Radiohead
Manics
Massive attack
Doves
James
Portishead
Blur
Chilli's
Primal Scream
Cast
And I'm slightly surprised to see Muse not get a mention yet, the best live act ever bar none (hence they always win that award) sorry foo's fans :booty:
-
I did say muse :P
-
Did u mention they were crap :signLOL:
-
I did say muse :P
I stand corrected :)
-
PWEI = Pop Will Eat Itself
Cheers Hedge :happy2:
Just Youtubed them...........interesting!!
They were, back in their heyday the most fun live band I ever saw and I saw a lot back then.
-
I seem to recall PWEI playing at a festival in Slough once. Saw Jesus Jones and the Fall amongst others there, too.
-
^^^^
You saw Jesus in Slough, Simon!?
Also Elvis in a chip shop in Newcastle?
-
I've never been to Newcastle? Dunno whether Elvis has...
-

Never liked Jesus Jones, the Fall on the other hand were (and I believe still are) legendary.
-
I didn't like them. Mark Smith makes everything sound like it rhymes by "singing" ah at the end of every line!
Saw Elvis in the chip shop-ah,
He sold me a saveloy-ah
-

Oh well, each to their own then (ah)
-
Simple Minds are my no.1 at the mo.
Others:
Queens Of The Stone Age
The Police
Friendly Fires (just their debut album)
White Lies
Sasha & Digweed
Darren Emmerson
-
.
Let's not forget AC/DC.
A good rock riff is difficult to beat for exciting an audience:
^ Makes school uniform look very cool.
-
^^^^ LEGENDS :notworthy: :notworthy:
They are on my list RR. To my shame I have never seen them live :ashamed: but would obviously love to. Big, big car nut that Brian Johnson and by all account a top bloke.
:happy2:
-
^^^^
AC/DC's Brian Johnson a very down-to-earth guy.
He races vintage cars in historic events etc. Definitely wouldn't look gay in an open-topped car!
-
Not in his open topped car, Thunder Guts. It's a Monster!! :signLOL:
-
There's a whole AC/DC concert on youtube. Over an hour long!
-
Stone ROSEEES.
Did anyone go?
-
Bands:
children of bodom
megadeth
to name just a few
WHY?
One of the the best guitar players out there, very technical and skillful!
Paul
-
loved Megadeth a few years ago not heard much new stuff but as for his guitar playing he is good but he tends to do the same thing a lot but thats just the guitar player in me
