Not sure about the wheels but on a side note, I sold something on eBay to that seller. Completely wasted my time, poor communication, hardly wanted to reply when emailing for payment. Never did pay up or cancel the transaction. I may be unlucky or it may show what type of trader they really are.

i've been eyeing those up for a few days

there are a few ways to tell:

visually they look genuine to me, but they are missing the offset information that should be cast on the face of the rim, and he lists them as being ET45 when CH025s are ET50. could just be a mistake tho.

if i were closer i'd take one of my genuine centre caps to see if they fit, as that's a fairly good test. other way is to look for sloppy casting on the back of the wheel - genuine BBSs should be smooth on the back.

Look fake to me!

But for £400 you can take a punt, not a massive hit and they still look ok.

Also look fake to me. BBS CH 025's are 18 x 8" but they are ET50 and will state that on the face of the wheel. Have a look at my build thread (click pic in my sig) and on one of the earlier pages I put up pictures of really good fakes, 'made in germany' stamp, BBS stamp, CH 025 stamp but were ET45 and this was stated on the back of the wheel not the front.

it may be one of those "if its too good to be true, it usually is" scenarios...?

I think they are fake.

i have some fake BBS which have all the lettering and ofsets written on them like genuine bbs. Also i think the black bolt caps on our cars wont fit into the bolt holes on genuine CH's.

Mine are genuine but dont have the holes. The Offset should be ET50 as previously mentioned.

The holes are for Mercedes as they attach weights to the holes to do the wheel alinment.
Think it's just the low offsets that have the extra hole.

Here's a few detailed pictures of the replica BBS wheels I once owned:

Note in the picture of the rear of the wheel you can see that it has lettering of ET (offset) then stamped numbers 45 (at roughly two o'clock position). Def not genuine but very good copies, made in Germany.

Hope this helps you.  :happy2:
