It's the 'family' motor so anything that is done will be small and purely cosmetic or a tech improvement such as audio/telephone etc.

Last few cars (VR6/MK3 GTI/) I have pretty much left as standard but before that I had a Mk3.5 Cabrio which was modded.

Due to chats in other threads, I feel we have already 'met', Apollo - But a Warm Welcome and beware the slippery slope of modding - Kalpsn2000 has already made a sneaky attempt to tempt you!

Ha yes RedRobin I like to throw myself into forums!!

As for Mods - Certainly want an OEM audio/phone upgrade as me and the missus both use the car and both have iPhones  :ashamed:

Tints as well but I really like the blue glass so no idea  - When I see soemthing that makes me go ohhhhh I will tint them lol

Some subtle touches inside - I like the footrest plate (wheres the best place to get one?) and some possible changes to the instrument cluster (not sure what yet tho). Someone mentioned seat inlays - anyone got pics?

Being a 55 plate you will need a new CANBUS. Easiest way to check what version you have is with a VCDS scan.

Not necessarily. I have a 55 plate and upgraded to an rcd510 without changing the canbus. Have left the car for two weeks without any drain - so whilst normally you are supposed to need one you may not

The Interlagos cloth looks great with Steel Grey and relieves all the greyness if it was leather (IMO).

As others will confirm, the Interlagos cloth is tough and very practical. Mine has done 100k miles and doesn't look worn.
