You need a cradle that connects to that bracket. The cradles were phone specific and only old phones. Not even sure the cradles are still made but I think there might be a bluetooth attachment for it.

I had one in my car when I got it and had a Nokia 6230i cradle thrown in as part of the deal (£110).  I have since removed it all and installed the Skoda Bluetooth kit though.

Hi there - nice looking purchase!

I've the same set up in my 05 GTI (or rather did have as I've swapped out the glovebox surround for a brand new one to delete the arm).  Unfortunately there is no bluetooth upgrade to this set up - only the 2006-on cars have an upgradable factory phone prep.  This is a real shame as this system works really with a cradle and handset inserted but as already said, cradles are only available for older handsets (hence the deletion).

Hope this helps.

.
I wish they would ban phones in cars for safety reasons. Take a mobile and stop somewhere to use it.

In car telephone use is always a contentious subject. I firmly believe its not the action of making or recieving a hands free call that is the problem, it's the content of that call. My opinion is receive a call whilst driving but tell the caller if it's urgent you will pull over in a safe place and call back.

That's because you are clearly a responsible driver and phone user  :drinking: (< non alcoholic of course!). I wish more people were like you regarding in-car phone use.

I don't see what's different about a phone call on hands free to a conversation with someone next to u. I definitely don't think being on the phone while driving is a good idea(not hands free)

....The difference is that you can much more easily stop talking to a person sitting next to you. In fact, whenever someone sits in my passenger seat for the first time and they seem to be a talkative type (usually females), I politely warn them that I may suddenly stop talking mid sentence or stop listening to them because my attention and focus is needed driving. It's also a good way of shutting them up!

When someone has phoned you, it is because a particular subject needs thought and discussion - It's not usually just idle chat. Therefore you politely pay attention and hence may be much more easily distracted. You are not together and talking within the same environment, so all communication is different.

Must try that one when the girlfriend is talking to me in the car lol I can see where your coming from but I still dont think a hands free phone call is dangerous but I suppose we all have our opinion
