I managed to get My car stuck in the mud at GTI International a couple of weeks ago, and had to have My car towed out by a Range Rover (Yes that was Me in the 07 Ed30!)
After I got back, I went on holiday for 5 days so the car sat outside My house with mud splattered up the side. I've now cleaned the car, but it appears the mud splats have eaten the paint and left marks where the mud was! I'm slightly concerned about what to do. I've not had time to get the paint renovator or polish on it yet to try and remove these marks. Has anyone ever had this or know the best way to remove it? I'm really hoping it's not gonna need a respray

Was the car protected with a wax or sealant at all?
-
It had 2 coats of meguires carnuba wax a week before inters

Could be that it just taken the wax off then. Can't see mud doing much more than that. :happy2:

try a good clean and then some little resin polish around the area that mud would of had to of had some kind of chemical in it to eat through your paint.

Remember that mud will often have harsher stuff like stones in in which would easily damage paintwork.

could be that the field was used for livestock, and the mud was a mixture of sh*t and urine, which could be corrosive.
