That's a great idea Jedi
:happy2:
I saw in his signature he was after a highline ccm (whatever that is)?
Perhaps we can club together and get him something he wanted for his car and arrange for it to be fitted etc?
Personally if it was me i'd probably like that more than flowers and chocolate etc..... but then i dont know what level of gift people were thinking?
Great idea, I'll contact his partner (Rachel) tonight for ideas.
With the amount of people willing to chip in here, Is everyone OK with at £5 each?
Well I've tried 3 times to send a donation using this crappy 3G signal...it's time to give up. :sad1:
I can send a payment when I get back to my sister in Rome on the 13th, but will that be too late?
If so will someone mind paying my donation and I will send it back on the 13th???
Thanks,
Carlo.
Just spoke to his partner Rachel, who says Phil is doing great and should finally be coming home from hospital today.
She mentioned that he'd read the other thread on the General Forum and was very moved by everyones comments and wishes of good will.
I'd spoke to her about anything particular he may be wanting to purchase etc so will update you all in due course.

....So do I - My great, great grandparents were Italian (my mother is Greek). I'm generally happier amongst the Greeks and Italians than the English.
At this rate I've a feeling that all our contributions to Phil will amount to a princely sum and something very good :happy2:

Any feedback from Rachel on what we can put this towards for Phil?
I've used Phils E-Mail to find his Partner on facebook.
I'm using a works account so can't actually message her.
Can Steve maybe contact her via FB and ask her?
How about a "If you had £500 what would you buy for your car" thread, and hope he posts in it? :signLOL:
No seriously, not sure what else we can do, other than maybe say we've clubbed X amount to spend on his motor, he can get it all booked in or what everm, and we'll buy it?

....He may wish to have the money spent on something other than on his car. Surely Rachel is the one with the answers to help this.
apologies as not been around much this week, sorry to hear whats happened Phil so get well soon and treat Rachel and yourself after what you've been through :happy2:
I think I'd be inclined to offer the cash. It might just be that after having some time off work due to injury that the money could be better spent on things other than his car at the moment.
I think to 'us' it matters not what it's been spent on, we've given to support a valued member of the community and that support should be used in the most appropriate way to make things more comfortable for him in his time of need.

I had a text from Phil last week saying he was doing much better. But heard nothing since from there.

Maybe it's time to bring him in on this thread then, I would much rather the money gets spent on something that will either help him or something he genuinely wants :happy2:

Was this thread hidden from Phil then?
Has Anyone heard from Phil yet?
I really hope he is on the road to recovery (no pun intended) :ashamed:
It's been a while....
Moz, if you read this, can you give us an update on Phil's health?
Hope you are back to normal soon Phil
just seen this post on another forum..

Whats the latest on this?
Hate to suggest it but kinda hoping its not all a massive scam now?
Didn't mean it like that, but in the sense he was doing a good turn and it went a bit pear shaped.
^^^^
It will all come out in the wash.
The 'Phil Miller' in the other forum is from Tavistock, Devon, and isn't shy about posting his mobile #. Appears to drive a black Mk5 TDI with GTI parts < Same as the member here.
Is 'Phil Miller' the name of someone famous which has been adopted as a forum name?
Does someone on here not know Phil or live near him that they could put this mystery to bed?
It all seems a bit odd you regulars have heard nothing much from the chap.
