seen a new one for sale but wondered if its different fittings etc? From the picture it all 'looks' the same?
-
not 100% sure but with it being a different turbo from a different company on the EA888 egngine i doubt it will fit

No they are different!
Look at where the maf is located in the fsi vs tsi engine...
-
hmm actually looking on the forge site there are LOADS of different versions for various tfsi engines. it gives different part numbers for the s3 and cupra tfsi even.
i thought cupra or s3 ones would fit ok?
-
where is it advertised? i wouldn't mind a look at this for my TSI
thanks
-
The maf on the fsi version is just before the elbow

whereas on the tsi it's like this

The attachment for the side cannister also looks different...
-
thats a damn ugly set up
-
 Im no Twintake fanboy but I wouldnt go that far !!
-
.
Well, I obviously don't think the Twintake looks ugly but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Exactly Robin. Probably why you added the supermegafugly EVOMS engine cover as well.

....Hmm, an interesting comment, Ian.
Although I think we lust after some of the same women (talking about in a shallow eye-candy way), our tastes differ when it comes to engine bays. I personally find the ITG Maxogen intake especially supermegafugly
So what is an example of a 2.0T FSI engine bay which you find attractive aesthetically?

this was the one i saw

i know you weren't asking me, but here's my favourite:

@ sub39h:
That engine cover is beautiful! - It wouldn't fit my AXX engine though.

Surely not that interesting Robin.
I don't find any of the 2.0 TFSI engine bays attractive they are a necessary evil. The OEM one looks good though.

....Sorry, I assumed it wouldn't fit. Those must be false coilpack covers in carbon in the front then. I wouldn't want an Audi badge on my Volkswagen though. It would look lush on my red GTI. OSIR are always expensive unfortunately.
-
it's an OEM TT-S engine cover, with OSIR carbon adornments. pic for reference:
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimage.motortrend.com%2Ff%2F9779701%2Bw750%2F112_0805_04z%2B2009_audi_TTS%2Bengine.jpg&hash=92f1a55b79a4012f698b93bf0a83dd6a1cc9b771)
The cover itself is less than £70 from Audi, and you need to change your mounting pegs which i believe are another £10 (together, not each) or so
the Audi rings are clipped in so will detach - in fact the top bit also says "TFSI" on it, which OSIR seem to have removed
you can wrap the carbon bits instead of getting the OSIR ones
(you're not the only one who can plant evil thoughts in other members' heads )

Fortunately, I like mine enough not to change it. Besides, it's custom made and also real carbon.
The Audi one you have posted is an excellent solution to the OEM engine cover which looks more like a kitchen appliance with a cheap imitation silver strip. (IMO)
