Title: help needed to i.d a part

2005 gti,under the ofside front wing is a silver box 1k0 951 227,can anyone identify which part this is???

i was in the garage,car hasnt moved for 3 days,all locked up,i can hear a noise coming from this area so narrowed it down to this...the noise is like a relay thats stuck or shorted out(bad earth maybe)
now,i am not sure if i can smell electrical fault or am just being paranoid,but the noise is worrying....

That is the holder for the alarm horn

try setting of your alarm off to see if it still works

ah ah thanks eddie,alarm horn doesnt sound,thought i had never heard it
should i unplug it,as to be safe from electrical fires due to the short i can here,or is there no need to worry

You can unplug it or you can replace it. They are about £30 on ebay or over a £100 from the dealer
