Hi guys, I want to get the above sorted soon on my manual ED30.
Think am going to get the wheel brand new from VW about £400.00, and need a steering wheel controller too i think. Are they about £115.00?
How much is a Highline dash if cant pick up a suitable one on here?
Do I need any other parts to integrate the above with my blutooth/510/MDI?

You will need also a different wiper stalk coz you dont need your buttons any more. Possibly new slip ring (depends what type u have now). VCDS and VAG Commander if u dont get SKC for ur clocks

Thanks, can I tell if need a new slip ring by looking at the VCDS scan? RAZ have pm'ed you.

There is no info on the scan.

If you get the part number of your existing Steering wheel control module from the vcds scan then check here on the Ross tech page which should tell you which slip ring is fitted with that module.
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Steering_Wheel_Control_Module_Versions (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Steering_Wheel_Control_Module_Versions)
You can also use that page to check your existing slip ring is compatible with your new module.
When fitting my mfsw I fitted a CH module which gives the option of using a .mk6 steering wheel also if you fancy a change later on.

This list for the Steering Wheel Controler which u can easy find in VCDS scan. But you cant find the slip ring part number on that scan

True although the list will give a guide to what *should* be fitted but I guess the only real way to tell is take off the steering wheel and take a look.

If the highline clocks are the earlier type you can use a vag commander tool to get the skc and do the swap.
If later (ending 974b I think) they have extra security making the swap difficult with a used cluster.
However.... if you get in touch with Kalu on here, he can do it for you. He did mine. He's down in Hemel Hempstead but worth the drive!
When I upgraded mine I left the wiper stalk.
Hope this helps.

How easy of a job is this to do? I have every option apart from MFSW and hi-line dash. If I get someone to do it how much roughly do you think it would be?
Anyone know anywhere in the NW that could do it?
Thanks
-
Depends on what year car you have and what clocks you currently have.
-
2007 Golf GT TDI 170 think its a lo-line dash?
-
i am in north west mate, you need to speak to Kalu. Either drive to him, like I will be or post your clocks and keys but means doing without your car and worrying whether courier will lose/break the clocks

Cheers will look into that :happy2:
