Yo guys.
As above, i'm sure its been discussed loads of times before but just want some views on coilovers...
Looking to buy some for my Golf but sadly i don't have £1000+ for KW's etc. But what is a good coilover for around £500? I'd like adjustable dampening but not too fussed if i get a kit which rides really well anyway.
Venom are currently doing a deal on Spax RSX's, they're normally over £700 i think but Simon can do them for £480, these have adjustable dampening and my friend just bought a set for his E46 and he rates them!
So yeah, any advice is much appreciated. Cheers. :smiley:

Why not spend 500 and get the best spring and shock kit in that budget? It will be of better quality... :smiley:

It's all going to depend on what you want to achieve from the change... lows or goes...? Whilst there are some pretty decent budget coilover setups out there (AP version comes with many good reviews) i'd have to agree with Rich that a matched Spring & Damper package (Bilstein B12, Koni Sport etc) will offer a better ride and performance if not the lows for your budget..

I've got Weitec Hicon GTs and have had them on my car for about 18 months - great kit
but as above, it depends on what you want. if you want "lows" then this goes fairly low, but if you want "gos" then you'd be better off with a top end spring kit

Not really after lows but I do want to adjust it to a height I like, hence why I said coilies. I'd be worried I wouldn't like how a spring and shock set up would sit and then I can't adjust the height.
There was a set of KW V1's in the for sale section that would of been good but looks like they're sold. :(

Looks like I've just bought some nearly new KW V1's. Even though it's the cheaper end of the KW range does it mean they're cheap poop?

I have kw v1 on my r32 and they are decent the ride is surprisingly comfortable, I was expecting to feel every bump in the road

Yeah its mainly for road use, if i do any trackdays its only gonna be a couple a year. So i'm thinking V1's will be nice on the road...
