Has it ever been suggested to have the members location appear under their details on the LHS when they post something?
Seen a few threads where people ask where a member is located now and could also help identify people close by for help/assistance etc.

Members' location is already stated on their profile page, if they want it. Not that many people ofn here seem to have filled in that box, ergo I don't think having it on you're every post will be a well recieved suggestion. I am on your side of thinking tho. Those that want to help others nearby can be much more visible if their location (roughly) was below their prifile pic and status on the right hand side of their posts. :happy2:

This has been asked multiple times in the past four years that the forum has been running for. It's not something all members want. Some choose to advertise their help eg vcds thread.
-
Maybe an option box that could be filled in similar to that on the profile page but linked to appear under your name etc when posting?

Click on Profile>Forum Profile Information>Personal Text. You can fill in this part (if you want with your location). See my info below my profile pic on the left of this post. :happy2:

Interesting. I just changed mine, but couldn't find anywhere in the profile section to actually change the 'location' option.

Some people are very weary of the security issues when advertising where their pride and joy can be found.

Just a county may help?

I suggested that and even then it was shot down.

I guess the recent theft of a members R32 has put many off adding a location. Fully understand the reasons, I still firmly believe that if someone wants your car they have plenty of other ways to find out your locations, but as they say Security is not a dirty word.......sh*t is a dirty word :signLOL:

That was useful info. Thanks for that.
