Title: can you fit MFSW and highline steering controller to a car with lowline dash?
Post by: jedi-knight83 on July 10, 2012, 09:28:55 am
Asking on behalf of a guy who wants to buy my control module. He has a MFSW he has bought and wants my Highline controller but he only has lowline clocks.

Will this work or does he NEED to upgrade the clocks too?

Thanks in advance.

I'm going to send him the link to this thread as well so be nice to a potentially new member.

If he's replacing the SWCM (your controller), then he'll need the MFSW airbag loom too, but I guess he knows this.

I'm pretty sure a member on another forum had a lowline with MFSW - problem being he couldn't change track with the MFSW, but that was with an RCD300, and I'm sure it worked otherwise.

He will definitely benefit from a cluster upgrade, even to midline, as he will now have trip functions available with a highline SWCM.

Where is he and what's the age/details of his car? I have my diesel midline clocks going and I could fit them if he was in the NE. Others on the forum could do the same I'm sure if more local to him.

Certainly to get the most out of the whole setup, it's best having at least midline clocks.

Full or at least midline is Definetely worth it with a mfa+ wiper stalk.

If you're going to get a satnav then highline cluster is definitely worth it.

This is my midline cluster

Looks like lowline but has trip computer etc. Are you sure this isn't what you already have?

This is an old pic of my highline cluster - note the full size screen.

MFA+ stalk is a wiper stalk with a rocker switch to let you switch through trip functions.

Well that is good news.

Check this for some info http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/280194/2444758.aspx - seems like you will need highline to get full use of the audio buttons.
I put my cluster in days before my MFSW so can't help you with that one sorry.

Ps. this is lowline courtesy of a search on the same site
