Title: MPG And Outside temp

Hi Guys im new to modern cars as have had a mk1 golf for the past 2 years.
Recently bought a sensible car mk5 golf 1.9tdi its got auto wipers / lights / cruise control but i really would like to have MPG and Outside temp.
What do i need to be able to do this ?

Any help would be great

I thought this all came as standard from your wiper stalk function, moving it up and down on the MK5.

if move it up and down they just come on ?

No mate, if you look at the end of your wiper stalk, you'll have an up and down button like below:

This filters through the trip computer and readings that are available for your vehicle. I can't comment on the TDI but my GTI has

MPG Total
MPG Current
Temp
Total Miles
Drive time

Maybe a couple others I've forgot.

yeah my wiper stalk doesnt have that unfortunatly.

Thanks for the reply dude , do you think it will be able to do it if i get a different cluster/wiper stalk?

I think this is only on the mid line and high line clusters??

What model do you have?!

Are there not controls on the wheel?! On mine, it was the up and down button on the wheel?!

Would i be able to fit a midline/highline cluster and stalk on mine and get it to work that way?

Do you mean steering wheel ? I dont have a mfsw unfortunatly , im not sure what model it is apart from a 1.9tdi?

If it's not on your wheel or wiper stalk. I doubt you'll have it. Might be possible to fit if you've got the little computer thingy....

It's possible to fit,you may as well put high.line clocks in if your going to up grade
