Any recommendations for good brake pads .for gti 30 edition ??

I would recommend Eurocarparts Pagid pads. I think they are about £28 + vat. Pagid make the oem pads.

DON'T use EBC, they are made from compressed camel poo. Bear in mind comp pads will generally eat your discs faster.

Best compromise pad I have ever used on the road are OMP pads actually but they seem quite expensive at the mo.

IMHO, if you really push on in the car on the twisty stuff, the pads have no chance as the discs are too small, you need a big brake kit to get rid of the heat.

I would reccomend to avoid pagid from ECP like the plague, the squeel and throw the towel in with just the slightest bit of heat. I get about 45% trade discount on them so they are easy to sell, but I still wont fit them onto any customers cars that are likely to ever see a spirited drive.

Dont confuse Pagid OEM factory pads (fitted to many porsche, BMW's etc...) with the stuff thats beung churned out of ECP, they are NOT the same! This info was given to me by Pagid themselfes after the Pagid 'oem' pads literally caught on fire on my 135i

Have now fitted Pagid RS29 pads which are probaby the best pad I have ever driven on. I also rate the Brembo Sports pad, Ferrodo ds range and for a normal pad I never have any issues with Bosch OE stuff.

 I've kept everything oem and added a complete Goodridge hose kit for £70.Big difference :happy2:
  There are a few colours to choose from. :drool:

I keep saying this time and time again about the poor quality pads from ecp. Stick with vw branded pads. I had similar experience as pdt. I would never recommend and always attempt to put people off the pads from ecp

Had Bosh OE pads and disks on the front of my Ed30 - been great!  :happy2:

I had those on my old mk5 and they were great. (but they only had to stop 150bhp so might be different story on a ed30)
