Title: Engine oil again!
Post by: Kregiel on July 12, 2012, 01:51:15 pm
Hi Guys,

as part of normal oil checking good practice I wanted to get some oil. Usually I would use Castrol edge 10w 30 which I would source from VW dealer. I came over today and they don;t sell Catrol Edge anymore and have VW brand oil the same spec 507. One peeps told me it's castrol edger but under own VW brand and cheaper as well at 35 euros for 5 litre

Anybody experienced it?

Paul

I had been lead to believe that the VW brand oil is infact made by Castrol for VW, sure someone will be along to correct me.

VW own brand is Quantum oil

After discount from oilspill30 I payed £48 that was for oil filter, pollen filter, 4L, and 1L cast edge oil. Bargain I think. May stock up next week when I get paid on few oil filters and more oil
