used to have these on my old 205 GTi and thought the grip was great, if such a soft compound they wore out a little quickly.
Anyone running or has the run the Parada Spec2 tyre for any long period on the Golf? Are they awful in the wet?

run them on my last 3 cars and onto my 3rd set in the golf. Wet grip isnt brilliant no, but i dont really push it in the wet.
Dry grip is awesome however

thanks Ed, and the Toyo T1R? are they better in the wet as the price of them are a real bargain imo

Which were your favourite?

Anyone tried the Yoko AD08 or A048's?
Parada's in the wet are evil.
The Hankook V-12 Evos are better in the dry than the Parada's too.

well if my car was standard i would be more than happy with the ZZ3's until i learnt they wear unevenly no matter the car (the guy that's fitted my tyres for 7years told me he has noticed it far too often)
i Currently use and will continue to use IMO best tyres i have ever used the Prada's, i drive slow and safe in the wet so wet grip isnt a big issue, they let go slowly and you can tell your pushing it to hard in all conditions anyway.
The michelin sport 2's were better in the wet but imo not as good in the dry.
Problem is there is a massive choice out there and very few people have been through a load of different tyres on the same car, most find a tyre they like and stick with them

I think the toyo t1-r are being replaced for t1-s....correct me if I'm wrong

Yup the Parada's are certainly a handful in the wet at the Nurburgring! :scared: :surprised: :driver:

I'm on Continental Sportcontact 2's in my new Mk 5 manual, the dry grip is awesome, but the wet grip is a bit pants.
The Pirelli P Zero Rosso's I had on the old Mk5 GTi (exactly the same car) where as good as the Conti's in the dry, but much better in the wet.

Toyo R1Rs are a very nice tyre. Have a reasonable life, fantastic in the dry and ok in the wet. Only problem is they don't have the correct load rating. R888s do have the correct rating, but apparently wear a little quicker and are noisier.

going back to hti sold thread I fancy a change so has anyone tried the AD08 on their MK5? Wet grip has to be reasonable or else not worth trying imo...

Holy thread rival Berg.............. :signLOL:

I used to run Parada 2's on my last GTI all the time. so much grip in dry it gave confidence.
but when they get low or in the wet, its best to ease of the loud pedal.
good for trackdays too

My brother ran ad08 thru winter a few years ago. Snow and all. He's still alive. That was on a Clio rs20p

ha ha well i have not been on here as much lately due to not modding anymore and looking to sell but think the ED30 now has a stay of execution because quite fancy a Golf R estate so will wait another 2-3 yrs for one and buy a Thule!
