Has he cut his head open on something? Ive nearly done that so many times underneath cars in workshops when walking into a gearbox or sump/lower arm. You just forget the rest of the car is there sometimes. Hope Alex is ok!!

It's a nice flash burn to my face.  Taken a good layer off without having to pay over the odds down Harley street.  Stings a tad, but I'll get over it.

Thanks for the support guys.

Hi all, Mrs AKS here.  Alex is doing ok. In a fair bit of pain but he's in the best place he can be right now.  He hasn't lost his sense of humour (he was disappointed there were no cameras for 24hrs in A&E) but he is quite uncomfortable. I think he is more gutted about losing his mono-brow
Typical Alex though he expects to be back at work on Monday! In fact, knowing him, if it hadn't been for the overnight stay tonight he'd probably be at work tomorrow!!!
Thank you to everyone who has messaged him, either directly or via the forums/facebook.  As Mike showed you on a previous update, his phone battery was down to 5% when I saw him this evening so I have instructed him to switch it off and keep it off. I'm sure it's killing him not being able to check what's going on on here, but I am taking his phone charger to him tomorrow so he'll be back soon enough.
I will pass on all well-wishes as I know he appreciates them all.  Thank you to you all for your kind words. I will be keeping the FB page updated for those of you who are on it. For those of you who arent, well, you've got Mike so you'll be fine. lol :)

So long as he doesn't install himself with meth injection... that might get dangerous!

Update from FB page.

AKS tuning
I'm pleased to say that Alex has been given the all clear to come home but not until later this PM. He's still got a long way to go, but the docs seem convinced he'll be able to keep himself clean long enough to heal!! Thank you again for all your well wishes and offers of support

Title: Re: AKS accident
Post by: vRSAlex on July 14, 2012, 06:10:29 pm
Back home now.  Phone straight on charge so I can see what's been going on. Going to take a few weeks to fully heal, and I'm peeling up nicely!  I'm not sure about having bald forearms atm.

Should be back to work Monday to sit infront of the computer and sort some stuff out.  Got some more exciting group buys to start.

Thanks for all the support on here and facebook.   :drinking:

It had to be my car >:(  sorry Alex.

I'm glad your ok, and hope you a full recovery soon.

I blame it all on Mike anyway, he's like a little devil voice telling me to get more work done.

Best of luck Alex. I know exactly how you feel, I had the same on my hand a couple of months ago. A little explosion from one of my nitro fuel bottles caught my right hand. Had to be taken to the burns unit in Chelsea for treatment. The pain is intense, but does get better I promise.

Worst part was them pulling the skin off my fingers like banana skins a few hours after the event without any anaesthetic.

Best thing is to follow exactly what they tell you at the burns unit, go back to have your dressings changed on time as per their recommendations and keep it clean. You will be amazed how quick it actually heals. I only have slight scarring in the worst areas and the pigment coming back slowly.

Happy healing and get some rest.
