Welcome Gadge, good on you , and Edition30 is what you need to satisfy your POWER needs

Any colour/spec do you have in mind?. Have you tried Both Transmissions to come to your conclusion?

would love the edition 30, but on a 10k budget. Tried the DSG and enjoyed it. Driven manuals all my life so would like the change tbh.

oo 10k is a little loww.

For the extra 2k you could get a better one in good condition and probs more spec

my thoughts

Are you going down the modded route or are you happy with 200bhp and keeping it much like that?.

If you wanting bhp better or as good as the vxr, then you will need the ed30.

Do edition 30's ever pop up around 11k anyway??

how much of a deal is it to put the ed30 turbo into a normal gti?

No and No to both your questions. sorry dude, unless you want to spend a few grand doing it, then save up, lowest your find an ed30 will be around 13k ish, which would be a manual with poverty spec or a DSG with galactic mileage .

It quite easy to get carried away, saying little bit extra gets you this. You can go on forever like that, i know! I been there. At the end of the day i'd be happy with a gti was dsg, its still a nice looking, fun car to drive. Is'nt it?

Not my cuppa tea, whats he saying factory upgraded alloys?? some sort of aftermarket ones more like with the vw centre caps.
Tis a low spec aswell. Not many factory extras, except the Xenons.
Looks like its hard a tough start in life. Wouldnt offer more the 10k to be honest, because what hes done to it etc . Worth more as standard without the JMS bodykit.

There is better out there but it all depends on your Budget Gadg  :happy2:

budget will max out at 11k. Just looking at british car auctions, but cant see a gti going through them, more like 1.4's and dervs

People now are tending to hold onto them, seems to be Baby forces sale, or redundancy etc, not hardly any that are "Bored" of it.

Had a test drive of a used gti. Didnt have long enough to fully get use to the dsg box and get a proper feel for the car, but still was good.
