Title: Switched Live Help

Hi All

I wired up my amp today, normally when I wire an amp up I would use the switched live on the back of the cigarette lighter to do so. I ran a meter on the three wires that connect to the back of my lighter only to find the switched live only comes on when you switch the lights on witch is a royal PITA.

So I have used the switched live on the back of the ESP switch which works fine for my amp but now my traction control is constantly switched off which has me pickled, the wire still puts out no current when the ignition is off, 12v when I switch to ignition position 1 and then 14v when I switch the engine on.

Any ideas would be greatly received.

I suspect that you have wired it in the lighting circuit.
I would look elsewhere to wire your amp in as the wire for the ESP has a low load rating
