Just thought I'd throw this up here!
I owned this car a few years back, sold it to another enthusiast who kept it as I did,
He asked me at the start of the year if I knew anybody interested in buying it, so I bought it myself!!
Here it was first time I had it
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2Fvrs4.jpg&hash=0d27d27ea28cc00ad5a82ce5d4c6f6775ef3c265)
In the meantime, I had this 2007 mk5 Gti
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2Fgtigarden.jpg&hash=d4b642b3810c519e0256d9055daac17e342108d3)
But then had to downgrade as my wife had a baby and funds were tight!!
This is what I was driving, was a waste of time downgrading as I spent a fortune to get it this way!!!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0102.jpg&hash=8fb6a6e78227b8382998342368445077661e4879)
Anyway, back to the vRS!!!
The spec is something like this:
18'' Zeniths
Dual Climate
Cruise Control
Front/Rear Electric Windows
Maxidot
Jumbo Box
Plus all the other usual vRS extra's
I had it fitted with these
H&R Cup kit suspension and -20mm springs
Columbus RNS 510 sat nav
Aluminium seat insert and footrest
HIDS4U Xenon kit
Rear window tints
Some interior shots

2 Tone!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2Fvrssnow.jpg&hash=c5fb2c705ddb5f4651788fdaef8790ca4b9ba63b)
I then bought it back, first thing to do was to get a Carbonio Intake and panel filter
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0353.jpg&hash=d3a84a6c371e38df9f12c2897182b0f1ccfd841a)
I know there are better intakes available, but I've had these in mk5 Gti's before and liked them
Also got some H&R 15mm spacers on the rear
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0318.jpg&hash=984faa46388ea70ae27f0c35295f66690ad24070)

Happy with the results, the suspension wasn't settled fully for these pics, should look well when I get them refurbed and it sit's at the proper ride height...

Like it :happy2:

Looks a sweet car but I prefer the OE Wheels on the Octys. I have the same car as you and am stage 2+ at the moment. I wouldnt use the D revision DV, as the G one holds boost better plus is less probe to fail. I had the D fitted for about 2 years but was leaking, as they arent designed to be used with the K03 housing. If you compare them side by side the D piston is about 7mm shorter than on the G and doesnt have a rubber seal on the end. I fitted a G and the car now pulls crisper than it ever did before.

Looks good :happy2: loving the contacts on the phone via the head unit
-
Thanks lads,
I like the OEM 18'' Zenith's myself, but there's so many race blue vRS here, needed to do something to stand out from the rest!
I think the shape of the A8's really suit the octavia!
Thanks for the comments :happy2:

Just a small update,

I got fed up with the A8's and these came up at the right price and in Ireland, so saved me the hassle of courier etc!
Anyway, forgive my (lack of) skill with a camera, here's a few other pictures I took!
Hopefully the suspension will settle down a bit when I drive it, only drove less than a mile to take the pictures, so we'll see!

I'm hopefully getting coilovers for it soon, sitting a little too high as it is on the H&R cup kit,
The Twintercooler came brand new in black, it could be got in silver also, but I wanted black as it's more discreet and you can't really see it through the grille in the bumper,
-
looking better with the halios on :happy2:
-
The helios finish it off nice!
-
Looks awesome with the helios .
-
Anyway, forgive my (lack of) skill with a camera, here's a few other pictures I took!
Hopefully the suspension will settle down a bit when I drive it, only drove less than a mile to take the pictures, so we'll see!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMG_1350.jpg&hash=df6ab0539238f617043d67705a9ccef7fe7c33c4)
I'm surprised at how comfortable it still is on the 215/35/19 tyres, was expecting it to be a back breaker, I'm old and like my comfort!!
What do ya think!
Thats the money shot for me, look fantastic, great work. :happy2:
-
looks lovely mate :happy2:
-
Looking really well matey, those wheels are  Maybe one day i could have a set!
-
That looks top dollar Mark the Octy looks like it should have come from the factory with them wheels, pure porn on any Vag but look so right on your Octy.
Enjoy it now mate.
:happy2:
-
Thanks a lot lads :happy2:
I've got a set of H&R twintube coilovers to go in soon, so hopefully it will look nicer a bit lower, hoping it won't totally ruin the ride quality I have now on the 45/50mm H&R cup kit!! :jumpmove:
-
I searched for a set of helios for ages but they go for silly money. Car looks awesome
-
Thanks Matt!!
Anyway,
Got this box in the post today, was waiting on another box aswell but it didn't come today!

I got them from superskoda, ordered them on Sunday, got them today.
The fit is perfect, the bonnet release lever has to be cut down, but it is easily opened, loads of room to put your fingers through the grille to open it.
Here it is compared to the original grille

Delighted with the results!
Took around an hour to do the both of them.
-
Your car is a credit to you fella! Some lovely touches there and always love a set of Helios on any car! :notworthy:
:happy2:
-
the only problem with the honeycomb grill on the Octavia, is that silly looking bit of metal up the middle that you can see through the grill!
-
Thanks lads, yeah Darren, I need to paint the blue support behind the grille black when I get a chance!
I got these light's the other day,
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0931.jpg&hash=3e3224639279a5c673272b850384f55eb817432c)
Just test fitted one of them to see what they look like!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0934.jpg&hash=12efc0ea52d9bd2b35ab52a99dcf1be87516d013)
They look really well from that angle, but from the side the indicator being clear ruins it I think
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0937.jpg&hash=cd37104cb728333bde356a539c2ddee847dce2ca)
I'm going to lamin-x the indicator with light tint to make it all dark,
-
spot on that grill :congrats:
-
I got both of them fitted today,
They look better in the outdoor photo's instead of under the lights in the workshop in yesterdays pictures!

What do you think? I think they look really good, but I'll try them for a while and see!
Only problem is, there back off the car again, when I turned on the lights with them fitted, the headlight's weren't working at all, and the dipped headlights were lit, but only at about 50% of their proper output and there was an error in the dash for both front left and right dipped light's defective,
Can anybody shed any light on what might be causing this? I think the same thing happened me with my mk4 when I removed the xenon's and refitted halogen lights, don't know what's causing it.....
-
looks really good Mark, I plastidipped that piece of metal on my car btw.
-
Great car.
Love the wheels and i like the new grills you have put on, really suit the car.
-
Thanks a lot lads!
Darren, is the plastidip easy to apply?
I was going to order a can of black, is it a simple spray on, one coat job or how does it work?
Thanks

pretty easy to work with Mark, make sure you are indoors somewhere sheltered and about 4-5 hours spare, mask off and clean the area then build up the coats, its easy to work with :-)
PS can I pick your brains about your W8 interior light, where did you get it and how did you fit it, does it require an adapter or anything?

Sorry Darren, just seen this now,
I bought the Superb cat vision (W8) light on Briskoda, it had already been modified to fit, if you manage to get one, you will need to cut the plastic frame on the back of the light to fit around the sunglasses holder in the roof, it doesn't take much, but it won't fit unless you cut it.
Mine came with the correct plug to allow me to plug it straight in, not sure if this was modified or if that is the standard plug on the Superb cat vision light, it need's a wire to be run from the light unit to the back of the light switch (the main light switch for the external lights) very simple to run it along the top of the windscreen and down the A pillar.

Hadn't got any proper high resolution pictures up of the car with the honeycomb grilles and darkened headlights, so got a few today after I gave it a clean! I still haven't mastered my DSLR yet, but there not too bad!
I'm planning on changing the yellow Lamin-x film on the fog lights for some dark tint, would suit the dark look better I think...
Hope ye don't mind so many pics!!

Got my H&R Twintube coilovers yesterday too, thanks Donal!
Hoping to get them fitted in the next few weeks.
-
dark headlights make such a difference
-
Thanks man!
Well it looks like my current vRS' day's are numbered!!
I had great plans for it, but after another certain k04 vRS came up for sale in Ireland, I snapped it up and there ends my journey with my '06 vRS!
I rang the owner who is on the Irish forum's, the second I seen his ad, and over the phone, told him I'd buy it!
Anyway after a spin down to Longford today, I now (for a few days anyway) have a combined vRS bhp total of 583bhp!! :D
Got a few pictures of my 2 vRS' when I got back this evening, the new one is a total wolf in sheeps clothing, 324bhp and an absolute maniac on the road, was spinning the wheels in 4th gear, I know it was wet, but the car is unbelievable at building up speed, your up at 160kmh (on a private road) :p before you know it.....
Old v New.....
259bhp v 324bhp.....
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG1094.jpg&hash=4c571b64e55ab8cb0c03b1c866c25336f0a21e8f)
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG1093.jpg&hash=0eec7da103430d9399fbbacba05f4f60bb892aa3)

Quality isn't great on my phone, but you get the idea!
There is a serious amount of spec on the car, but I'm too tired to list it now, will do that tomorrow.....
-
Now get some LIGHTWEIGHT wheels on your new steed. You'll love the difference they make. :happy2:
Lovely colour on the cars. K04 really does make the car a class better :jumpmove: I bet you feel like a dog with two tails at the moment
-
Thanks John, it will be wearing 18'' zeniths for the rest of the winter, will see what happens after that, although I really like the Helios, think they suit the octavia really well, I know what your saying though, they are bloody heavy!!
Here's just a quick dyno graph from JKM when the previous owner had it mapped
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FDSC04149-1.jpg&hash=09fe2bb5d71a8a2a9c27d40e4dac6d085cea9a32)
-
Power looks good although torque is a little down. 300 bhp+ from 5600rpms onwards is good for JKM's dyno. :happy2:
-
It's still on it's original clutch from new, think that the torque being down may have helped with that!! Doesn't slip or even show signs of fatigue from the k04 setup
-
Is that Micky32's car?
-
It was Michael's, but it's mine now....
-
Cool. It was one of the first ones that JKM did. :happy2:
-
Bit of a geeky update, but make's the interior look so much better imo!!
I picked up a newer FL climate control panel last week,
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG1128.jpg&hash=20d1f0dc6065094837f37a80654d4ecf36ee4f26)

I also had to order a new dash fascia to fit around the new type climate panel
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG1125.jpg&hash=4fecf3c990b1fc9a6147e35d86b65cfcbcc37b72)
Here is how I started out, the original climate control
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG1119.jpg&hash=9fdd4a4548b7566df125fad39a84d1d32a935f8b)
While I was taking it all out, I decided to fit my Kufatec basic plus kit, the car already had the oem bluetooth kit fitted, but it was the old 729A module and doesn't display on the maxidot screen, I might get a newer 729B module at a later stage, but for now I'm back to my kufatec kit, great job! old pictures from when I fitted it to my old vRS
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0356.jpg&hash=1a9ee89e1d4408226adbc93a09d842a5828b051b)

Anyway, back to the climate control!
All removed and kufatec fitted behind where climate control panel fits,
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG1120.jpg&hash=9dea1817c6b986f3e8b17a4ddbb06a164f53f473)
New panel fitted

Here it is with the new surround
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG1141.jpg&hash=4bec6c5ef50eac78b07835f73548b92351fe91d2)
Here's the cool part, it displays on the Columbus sat nav screen,
Look's so much better than the old climate panel
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG1147.jpg&hash=cdc2a0b2f162c8fb594d2d3165771c039c91fc57)
The guide I read said that there needs to be a wire changed from one feed to another, but I didn't need to do that, straight swap.
The Columbus had to be upgraded from it's original SW to 2764 as most firmware before that won't display on the screen,
When I had upgraded the maxidot was stuck in the Audio/Navigation menu if I clicked into them, it wouldn't come back out unless I turned off the radio, but after upgrading the 27xx fix, it all works perfectly again.
-
Good work, very nice combo now with the big digital display
-

Here's a few bad phone pictures taken in the wind and rain, but when it settles a bit, I'll drop it a bit more, it's my daily and I have the baby with me a lot in the car, so won't be going silly low!!

Really surprised how comfortable the car still is, was expecting it to be a lot more harsh, it's probably the same as my last vRS was on the H&R cup kit with -45/50mm springs, we'll see when I go a bit lower!!
Anyway, that's it for now, will hopefully fit the BBS wheels tomorrow if the weather picks up a bit, not sure whether I'm going to keep the Helios for the summer show's or sell them, there grand on the car and look really well, but there too heavy to get the most out of the car as it is I think, not sure....

Some "intresting" phone numbers there lol

Got a few pictures today of the car with the coilovers in,
Need to get the damage on the wing repaired too

Definitely needs to be lower, I'm going to leave it until next weekend and then I'll drop it another bit.
I picked up these genuine BBS CH 8x18 wheels last week, like new, not a mark on them
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FT2eC16VHJH8E9qSEWJ3BQ6V5q3G60_58.jpg&hash=06364276a6d8545c1ff6d052d2c9102238db2fd3)
Here they are fitted, I wasn't too happy when I put them on at first, but the more I look at it the more I'm liking it, it'll definitely look way better when it's lower on the BBS,
Here's the 2 centre caps I have,

Think I'll keep the Helios and put them back on for Dubshed in April
-
looks stunning but i prefer the first wheels
-
Ok well, the Helios are now gone, they went to the UK today :sad1: I was thinking about keeping them for the show's etc and maybe running them during the summer, but to be honest, they would be wasted sitting in boxes for most of the year, anyway, I'm happy with the BBS CH's and my 18'' oem Zeniths are in the garage too if I fancy a change, might see if anything nice come's up during the year though!!
I'm waiting for a day off to lower the suspension, but it has settled a lot since the last picture, I can't believe the comfort of the twintubes, they are almost the same in both comfort and even over the speed bumps as the H&R cup kit was with 50mm lowering springs,
Anyway, I got a few better pictures today of the car with the CH's fitted, they are just on my phone, hadn't got the dslr with me.

I bought a dash cam on a recent group buy on briskoda, it's a Blackvue DR380G HD, to be honest, I had never felt the need to have one, but after looking at reviews and video's uploaded from the same type, I just got it,
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0077_zps8abe87bd.jpg&hash=976dc9bdbce4a332846c8846e68aa33718b92107)
The kit comes with the camera, mount, 12v cigarette lighter cable, AV in and out cables, 8GB micro SD card, and all the info you need to fit it, I have a few bits organised to mount a new cigarette socket behind the dash to power it, was going to cut off the plug, and wire it directly into the car, but it would be easier to wire it into a socket so it can be moved from car to car if needed,
Really impressed with it, it has GPS so it displays your GPS speed and your location on google maps when you have the video's on playback, I don't really have a whole lot of use for it in reality, I don't do track days, but with all the lunatic's on the road, it may pay for itself someday!!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0090_zpsdf305181.jpg&hash=b4570c100fc7954615faecb7e7257543f2a757de)

Here it is mounted, can't be seen behind the rear view mirror, the cable was running down to the cigarette socket, but it will be run along the roof cloth down behind the dash when I have a chance to wire it in properly during the week!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0083_zps666b880f.jpg&hash=61bcfdf8bd3e585614fb37accd61b8058f079b40)
Quick video, I had just fitted it so I presume it hadn't picked up any GPS coordinates for speed display
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi264.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FVideos%2Fth_20120725_161136_E_zps637ff6be.jpg&hash=fa3ddbbb872f9b5d785e05c5efadc04e81f2cf0c) (http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii188/mark_eire/Videos/20120725_161136_E_zps637ff6be.mp4)
I also got a set of C spanner's, thanks to Keith, during the week to adjust the coilover's,
I went at them yesterday after work, but got caught out by the dark, so didn't get as much time as I wanted to mess around with them, but they are around 15mm lower all round than they were before, fairly happy, but might go a bit lower again, with the baby in the car, it won't be going silly low though, here's a few pic's of how it's sitting today.

Will drop it another 10mm during the week, that's all for now!!

Looks good. :happy2:
I don't think it needs to go any lower.

^^^^ what he said

Really close, if just a *little* bit too low for me at the front :happy2:
-
Great looking motor. Really like what you have done to it. BBS really suit the car :happy2:
-
Thanks a lot lads, will leave the suspension as is for now, surprised at the reaction, normally all you hear is 'needs more lows'

like the camera
how much was it if you dont mind me asking

Thanks a lot lads, :happy2:
The camera is a blackvue 380G HD, it cost £170, there is also a 400G and 500G model available with more features, but I felt the 380G is good enough for my needs!!
Really happy with it, I'll upload another video soon, the jumpiness from the first video has gone and the speed is displaying after it picks up GPS signal,
-
Was gutted I didn't get up to Dubshed in Belfast on Sunday, but had a family party Saturday night, I had the car clean ready to go early Sunday morning, but a combination of a hangover and my wife about to have our 2nd baby, I decided to give it a miss!
Anyway, I had a few things tidied up on the car in the last week getting ready for the show,
first up was a new windscreen, fitted by Autoglass, all good so far!!
Then I got a nasty scratch/dent sorted on the passenger wing, on it from before I bought it

Thanks man!!
I picked up a set of Golf R pad retaining clips a few weeks back from Greeners for my 345mm calipers, they look much better than the standard small clips,

They were actually pretty faded as they had been on his Golf R for a few years and were replaced for new ones, perfect for what I wanted!!
I got them sprayed silver

Happy how it turned out!
-
Looking good :happy2:
-
Looks good, the contrast between the silver and red cally really draw the eye in... not sure I'd wear the Audi centres tho.
-
Thanks fella's, it's practically impossible to get other centre for the CH028, they have smaller diameter cap's than other CH's as they are oem Audi wheels, been looking for a while now for different caps, I have a set of ABT chrome caps that fit, but they look horrible, I might try get some decal's made up to cover them!
-
looking nice
-
Very nice, I was looking at the vRS before I got the Cupra
-
Sorry, but another picture filled update, nothing special though, just some minor additions!!
I picked up some 8mm H&R spacers a while ago, hadn't had a chance to fit them with the new baby taking up most of my free time lately!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0926_zps6d80814f.jpg&hash=1db75ce3112a6c081c1df8be7ba75e4381dfc66f)

It's not much of a difference as the original offset of the BBS is fairly good, but just sits them nicer under the arch,
Before
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0931_zpse575cdf8.jpg&hash=8ae618f4d3bfa81edb7d883c0fbaf0a8c5037114)
After
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fii188%2Fmark_eire%2FIMAG0929_zps8378fa1a.jpg&hash=6e2b7c98e17d7ecbafa86a828786dabece5df766)
That gives a final ET of 35 on an 18x8'' wheel which is about as good as you can get on an Octavia without adjusting camber,
I also picked up some BBS resin decals a while ago too, the reason is the BBS CH028 are oem Audi wheels and the standard BBS centre caps will not fit, they are approx 68mm diameter on the outside, but only 55mm on the inner ring, so almost impossible to get centre caps that will fit, and BBS don't list any for them,
Anyway, I picked up 2 sets of decals, there hard resin ones so should be up to the job!
Black carbon effect

Luckily when I bought my BBS, I got 2 sets of centre caps, the oem AUdi caps and a set of ABT chrome caps, which looked terrible on the car, but the have a completely flat surface so perfect to fit the decals on,
I sanded the faces down, not sure if it would actually make a difference, but the decal will probably grip better to the non shiny surface, could be wrong here, but it's done now!!

I'm going to try get another set of ABT centre caps and fit the black BBS decals to them, I'm unsure if I like the red BBS caps or not!!

Well I bought myself a new set of Felgen's for the vRS last week on eBay.de,
I've been running on the CH's the last few months, so thought I'd try a set of 19's again for the rest of the summer, while I get a chance to get 2 of the CH lips refurbed and also want to get my 18'' vRS Zeniths refurbed too!!
Here they are anyway, haven't got tyre's fitted to them yet, but can't wait to get them fitted....

They are genuine Audi Calera 19 x 8.5 ET48 originally from the A6 C6 afaik,
I haven't seen many of them around tbh, it's nice to find Audi wheel's that haven't got replica's of them everywhere!!
I just got home from holidays last night, I hadn't seen the wheels as they just arrived from Germany on Thursday,
So first thing today, I went up to check them out, hoping they were as good as they looked in the pictures and that they were what they were meant to be, my translation from German eBay wasn't the best, so I was happy to find them exactly as I hoped they would be!!
I haven't got tyre's for them yet, but the urge to test fit them made me throw on one for a look anyway....

Should look good, really happy how they look, I actually think there nicer than I was expecting tbh!

Great looking rim there, actually a lot better than the BBS that's on the rear. Get some good PSS on them and you have a winning combination :congrats:
-
Wow. I want these!
Any idea on the weight Mark?
-
Thanks fella's,
@Rob, I done some research before buying them and was lead to believe they weighed 26lbs, but I weighed them on my scales at home yesterday and they are registering at 14.5kg which is 31lbs,
I will try again using another scales as the one at home has been known to be inaccurate, or maybe that's me being optimistic!!! :ashamed:
They feel lighter than the Helios in the hand, but I'll weigh them properly in the next few days and report back!

Looking forward to seeing them fitted

I got this on Friday, its a Polar FIS+ advanced, I bought it on one of the other forum's brand new,
Absolutely brilliant bit of kit, allows lots of settings to be altered in the mfd screen, also displays dozens of screens of realtime info e.g. coolant temp, side G meter, ill put up some pictures later of some of the screens,
It also allows the passenger side mirror to dip when reverse is engaged, shows optical display on the sat nav of parking sensors, allows the American DRL to be adjusted,
Theres a chronometer in it also which you can set to measure time between 2 speeds, set up a start speed and finish speed, then it has a timer which displays on the mfd screen
It was a bit of a pig to fit though, it plugs into the can gateway, I read a few guides on fitting which said it was located above the brake pedal, but turns out it is over the relays, easiest way to get to it is to take off the wipers, plastic tray, wiper mechanism and there is a cover which allows easy access to the can gateway, plug it in and away you go!!
Ill put up loads of pics later when I get a chance to do it,

I'm still waiting to get tyres for my 19s, hoping to have them on for a show in cork next weekend.
Here's a few screen shots of some of the options in the Polar unit, really is a great piece of kit,
There are lot's of different settings and configurations available
Sorry, some pictures are blurred from my phone!

I tried some 8mm spacers on the rear but it's poking too much, will try some 5mm, they should sit nicely with that on the back.
Tyre's are Vredstein ultrac sessanta's 235/35/19
I also put up some more pic's of the rear LED tail light's, much easier to photograph in daylight!
Anyway, that's all for now!!

Overall, this give's a really nice car with 324BHP and just over 300lb/ft on tap,
The car has 140k miles on it now and is as fresh as the day it came out of the showroom!
Hopefully I can get a new job close to home as I'd hate to have to sell this if I have a long commute everyday....
Anyway that's all for now, car is back in winter mode now, with the BBS fitted once again, not winter tyre's but the 19's would be a nightmare on Irish roads in the winter tbh.
Here's a quick old picture of how it's looking now
