Hi,
I have a little problem thats driving me nuts, the boot on the car doesnt seem to like closing 1st time, it kind of bounces back up,
which means the missus bloody slams it to make it work first time, this is unacceptable.
I have checked the lines and the lid does not appear to have dropped, shifted or moved so im wondering if any one know how to fix this or if a new seal would help?
thanks

Anyone..... :sad1:

Not sure, but check the latch area. Make sure it's oiled/greased and look for anything that might've got stuck in that area.
-
check for play in the locking mechanism on tailgate itsself
-
Check the rubber is attached fully along the bottom- had this on my mk4 and found the rubber wasn't pushed on fully.

OK So I checked my boot seal and all was well, so I checked the locking mechanism and found this.....

Whipped off the plastic cover surrounding the mechanism, 30 seconds to tighten the bolts and back on with the trim.
