Title: Are Mk6 Calipers a straight fit on Mk5's?
Post by: ashley on July 20, 2012, 10:56:19 pm
Hi all,

The Mrs with be the main driver of my Ed30 from Sept. Decided the RS4 brakes are overkill!

Was looking to replace with standard mk5 jobbies but obviously mk6 gti brakes will newer and covered lower miles. Have an option on some locally at a sensible price.

So are the fronts and rears a straight swap?

Thanks

cheers, realise they are both 312mm on the fronts, just wanted to confirm the mounting points are the same , discs the same offset etc.

Any ideas on the rears?

Yep all the same... so long as they have come off a mk6 GTI they will fit a MK5 GTI... its the same car essentially.

Great thought so, although knowing my luck there was a minor update that would cause probs.
