Hey guys, not VW related but just after a bit of advice.
After 2 years i've now got my Mini back on the road.
It was painted last year and at the moment it's got nothing on it, just 'straight out the gun'
Iv got a show next weekend and won't have time to go to the bodyshop for a flat and mop sesh' before then, so want to give it a bit of protection for now.
I'm not big into detailing. Iv got loads of Auto glym super resin polish, and a tub of their wax.
Any ideas?
Cheers

IIRC polishing is fine. You ideally need to allow the paint to cure fully for a few weeks though.

new cars get a coating of wax about 5hours after theyve been painted in the factory

If it was painted last year then the products you have will be fine.
And as for letting the body shop 'mop' it!?!?! :scared: :scared: :scared:

You mean where the paint is heated to a very high temp for curing that cannot be achieved by a bodyshop?

He had the body shop 'mop' the marks left by the plastic, which has now left the car with swirls and holograms.
They do that yes, but they rarely if ever refine the swirl marks and holograms left by their 'mopping' process.
