Hello guy,
Just wanted to know if any one has had Chassis Notch on the mk5 golf, if so what side.
My car suffers from some sort of knocking when going around roundabouts or turning left very fast, turning right is ok no issues. knocking seems like its on the passenger side.
I'm running out of ideas lol.
-
please no.... The mk5 has a fairly healthy notch already there, you shouldnt really need to chop your chassis to bits.
-
I was thinking that when I had a look, but not sure where it's catching can't see any marks. Only other thing it may be is arb hitting wishbone
-
might be hitting the drive shaft...
-
I will check for marks again tomorrow, but it's doing my head in lol
-
its really suprising that this happens even when im driving it she does that
-
The knocking is probably stretched subframe bolts.

If youre low enough its the drive shaft hitting the chassis leg on the drivers side. Done the same on mine when i had it but sold it before i got a notch done.

I'm sure the knocking is from passenger side but will check both sides tomorrow.

Checked Drive Shaft yesterday no marks i was driving hard before i checked... now running out of ideas...

Is that your car in your sig puc and how it looks at the minute. If it is then you deffo wont need a chassis notch as mine was lower than that and mine only rubbed on the odd occasion

Yeah thats my car, i have lowered more now, but this started happening only once lowered it. i will be checking the model number of the spring on the front coilovers make sure they are the right ones...
These coilovers were off a manaul 2.0tdi i have a DSG but i think these were ok for the DSG 2.0tdi

Raise it up a bit and see if the knock dissapears. If it does get it booked in for a notch if you have to run it rediculously stupid low. :driver:
-
what coilovers are you running? measure from your wheelarch to the ground whats the distance? also what profile tyres are you using
driveshaft does hit the chassis if your running pretty low

Hello Guys... i have got this sorted now... gonna sound strange but i had my flywheel changed before MIVW as it was knackered... now its not catching  :happy2:
Only thing i can think of is that the flywheel was putting the engine out of balance when turning right.
