I went Stage 1 last week, but am now planning Stage 2 for September/October.
I'm stopping at Stage 2, I have a K03 GTi, so I'm wondering which CAI is best for this.
Either:
Forge Twintake
EVOMS
BCS
I've been put off ITG, as testing by my tuner Storm developments found no increase in bhp on these cars. Any other suggestions very welcome :happy2:
-
I'm surprised that you're put off by the ITG - it added 16bhp (on the same JKM rollers) on mine :happy2:

Evoms.

I have a Twintake. If u read thru the threads on here, the feedback is pretty good, and I do like the sound (not to b confused with the dreaded phantom 'whistle', lol). Do BCS also do aftermarket intakes, news to me, unless its a custom build, cause it was actually them who installed my Twintake!? That said, if they do, and its the same quality as their exhaust systems, id prob bite their hands off!!! :-o

I'm not sure if they are doing them or if it was a one off, but I offered to buy the one off their demo car, but they never got back to me on that. I'm going for the Powervalve in the autumn, and can't wait!
-
Gr8 choice, get the Powervalve Sport, FANTASTIC, and the burble just pottering around is very very cool! :-D
-
Evoms.
x2!

Itg is the best intake for Power you can have.im stage 1 with itg open filter and pre cat delete and made 256 bhp on Rtech rollers couple months back.itg is tested and proven to give the biggest gains as backed up by my power out put on stage 1
-
I always thought ITG was king on the mk5
-
I vote ITG. As above people mention, proven gains so not sure where your tuners info or motivations come from? Unless they refer to a panel filter? (though unlikely if they were comparing to the evoms and twin take?)
There are plenty write ups including before and after RR results on the forum here. I went for the ITG after reading up on that, the twin take and the evoms and I certainly haven't been disappointed.
Cheers

The Evoms sounds good. And its not "that" loud to be honest, but it makes all the right noises.

Now you're just being silly Steve. :rolleye:
-
Forge Twintake :happy2:
-
^^ another good choice :innocent:
-
You could always leave it with the stock airbox on....... :innocent:
-
Ok, so it's down to 2.
EVOMS or Twintake
I'm gonna hit the reviews now.
I do like the look of the twintake. Looks a bit 'spesh' under the bonnet!
-
.
Although my review is of the Twintake, there may be other information of interest and help in making your choice, Ian:

Had all three on mine and personally my car performed better with the evoms than the other 2. Imo looks the best out of the three also. Itg just looks gash imo. Good look with your prefered choice, im sure you wont be disappointed whatever you choose.

I'm leaning towards the EVOMS TBH.
The whole point of asking questions like this is to get advice and opinions from the really experienced chaps on here, and if more of them say EVOMS than anything else, you go EVOMS!!! Or you change your name to Sammy :signLOL:
-
hey ian
- i have the evoms and am happy with it to a degree. I think it starts to under perform with heat but thats probably due tp the lack of heat shield. sounds nice affordable and looks smart inder the bonnet. :happy2:
