as above, wanting to book a holiday cottage and was wondering if anyone can advise a crackin spot which has good views but local amenities too - ie a good pub! wont be doing too much walking with little one but some nice strolling would be good.

Hawes it great. We stayed here http://www.hudsons.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/hudsons/_WTS33292/428993/Pry-House-Farm-Cottages#ad-image-0 a few years ago and had a lovely time. They have 2 barn conversions of different size. 30 minute walk into Hawes and theres a few nice pubs there.
What about http://www.greendragonhardraw.com/contact.html . 2 birds, one stone, and its got this in the back garden.

Great place, but tad quiet, be better going slightly further up into the dales. Still class skipton as home, so peaceful compared to other BD postcodes :fighting:

Its quite surprising how far out long ashes site in skipton is and its still a BD post code. Its 33 miles from my house (BD18).
