Thinking of putting a set of these on mine (18" monzas) instead on conti sport contact 3 which I have been happy with and wear rate is good
Any comments or views?

I prefer my conti sc5's over my potenzas...

Those are the tyres that come with the mk5 gti as standard.. i just got 2 new ones as i didnt see a reason to swap brands. theyre fine for me!

I would stick with the Conti's,german quality.

The new SC5 isnt favoured very much even in Germany.

They were factory fitted to mine. I changed to GY ASSY2's a few months ago. The bridgestones are a bit better in the dry but cant touch the goodyears in the wet or for road noise.
The RE050A's were shocking in the wet once they went below 4mm thread. The back would break away without notice. They still had 3mm thread left on them when I got rid.

They we fitted to mine when i bought it, couldn't get rid of them soom enough, as mentioned poor grip in the wet and no grip in the dry, and they were squared after a few hours of stilstand, so bumpety at the start of each ride :fighting:
