Hi
My cars in having a service and cruise control fit by a vw dealer but I've just had a call saying there having trouble coding the cruise control just wounding if any body has come across his before ?
-
Incompetent franchised dealers, sadly yes :jumping:
The only reason I can see they would be having a problem is if the steering controller is not suitable or if they've done something wrong.
What car is it?

I see from your posts that it is a GTi Ed30 2007
Either the dealer has done something wrong or I bet your controller has 638 0070 HW SW
Maybe you should have used someone on here instead of using the dealers.

the ed30 2007 i did the other day was different to when i did my earlier caddy / golf.
Wouldnt let me into 'coding' section so had to do it via long coding.
all worked fine though.

if the coding is long, then the activation is in there otherwise it is in the coding II

The only reason I put it into a vw dealer is I couldn't find anyone in Kent area that could do it in time. But at the end of the day vw quoted one hour to do it so I'm only paying one hour !

Wow. only?? 1 hour in my VW Dealer - 120 quid - thats cheap. I dont' know hows in Kent maybe cheaper. And 1 hour just for codding is a rip off.

A standard MK5 install can be done in circa 15mins. An hour is giving themselves plenty of time.

True
An hour is giving themselves plenty of time.
For a tea time

Hour to fit and code and they did say it would only take about 45 mins. There's problems with it now so it's down to them to sort it out !
