Thought I would take a blast in my car,all was going well until about 4 miles from home,the car seemed to go in to limp mode but no lights on the dash,the other thing I noticed was the range of fuel I had left hadn't moved,still on 45 miles even thou I had done 26 miles,

With that fault code its either your pcv or dv. It isnt making the requested boost so those are what I would look at to start with and check the boost hoses for splits.

Check the hose that goes accross the front of the engine bay at the bottom, theres a joint there that is very common in causing this fault code.

It will be the Turbo, we see it all the time
Sticking VNT will be the problem , it can't give the correct boost the ecu Commands
It's normally in low rpm high gear situations such as over taking in 6th on the motorway or pulling up hills on motorway basically using the torque
Cycling the ignition resets the ecu so the problem goes away

Data log the request & actual boost and see if there are differences, put VCDS in turbo mode for this
Was the turbo a brand new hybrid or exchange ?
Check the vac hose is all good to the turbo actuator , Also check it right back to the valve body on the bulkhead
Then check the vac tank on the front of the engine ( little black ball )
If it hisses when you unplug it it's holding vacume ( just don't break the vac tank in unplugging it )

The turbo was on another.members car and sent back to cr turbo for a health check and it was fine,will have a look at the pipes tomorrow that you and Dave have mentioned,its only done it once so a bit puzzleddone 100 miles aand all was fine,been told to check the maf sensor

The maf wouldn't leave a boost fault, they rarely break on mk5's, the mk4's had lots of maf problems though
It's always worth checking the vac hoses but if there was a break it wouldn't boost at all
I'm 99% sure it'll be the turbo

+1 Just thinking that
I've fitted hybrids before myself on the 2.0 PPD's but not had to map anything special in the tune at all
Would imagine this could be tuned around if it is the issue etc
Just make sure no ones been playing with the actuator

Where did you settle on getting the car mapped in the end? Was it John at BF?

we sure don't Dom think our cars are jinxed--John at bft did the map which is very good-not sure what bhp its putting out but as his r/r is getting changed--need to save up foer a clutch so we can alter the map to get the most out of the turbo which will be 220 to 230 bhp

Andy the actuator was moved when I had it, it kept going into limp mode so Ryan @ DD sorted it and after that it was fine, the map you have on may now may need it moving to suit??
The turbo is still under warranty so don't worry too much about that.

the little vac pipe was hanging of the turbo--pushed it back on and its been fine for 3 weeks :happy2:
