i went to the garage where i used to work & a bloke next door came over & asked if i wanted to do a straight swap for his c class merc on a 06 done 14000 miles plate for my gt tdi golf which as done 37500 miles,He said the merc is still in warranty but he wants the golf for his wife
-
An 06 isn't the new C is it? I think the current C came out in 07... in which case I wouldn't. Quite like the new C - had one as a rental car for a fortnight a few months back and did a 2 day round trip from Bracknell to Edinburgh and back for work - I was quite impressed by it.
-
I had a C class coupe but sold it to buy my golf. I only had it for 4 months and HATED it. I could'nt even bring myself to wash it! :ashamed:
It felt like an old mans car....

Depends on the true value of the Merc. If you're getting a good deal out of it then it could be an option as you could move it on again for a profit and get something that you'd prefer afterwards, eg. a new GTI, S3 etc etc
-
I would say no but it depends if you like the Merc that much? and is it worth more??
-
I dont know which merc your looking at, but basing it on the C180 Komp Classic, Glasses says the following....
P/X £8600 excellent, £7750 good, £6810 fair. Dealer retail £11200
Now if your Golf is a 2006 06 GT TDI, the figures are
p/x £9190 exc, £8280 good, £7370 fair. Dealer retail £11000
Therefore, although Im assuming a lot about the cars as I cant confirm the model, the Golf is worth £500 across the board more than the Merc come trade in time.
Hope this helps
Andy
