Right, this is fairly boring but I decided to see if Vpower made any difference to fuel consumption. I know the other benefits of using a higher RON fuel. But performance benefits are subjective at best whereas fuel consumption is easy to measure and over a long distance it is accurate.
I drove about 3400 miles using 10 tanks of shell Vpower then using normal shell petrol I used another 10 consecutive tanks.
The difference in consumption was 0.54%. No difference at all.
I have since switched back to using Vpower because I like putting the best into my car. Being an engineering nerd I wanted to put some numbers behind the choice.

Need more information:
1. What car do you drive?
2. Any trade off in performance?
3. Road conditions between the two runs?
4. Temperatures in the two runs (if you did the V-Power runs in winter and the regular in summer then it may affect the results)
5. Type of journey
6. Number of occupants/amount of luggage etc
7. The car will need a few tanks of fuel to adjust to the new petrol. Was this factored in?
8. Were the tyres and tyre pressures the same in all journeys?

Standard Mk5 GTI. I did it last spring/summer. Mostly commuting 60miles per day, mix of half stop start traffic and half M25. Weekly motorway runs up the M1. No passengers.
It is not an exact science. But over 7000 miles you get a good average.

Have you ever looked At the sticker on your fuel cap cover?
