Title: Wheel Rim Protectors?
Post by: Xizor on August 03, 2012, 11:28:30 am
Hi,

Just wondered, has anybody tried alloy wheel rim protectors, such as these?

http://www.spartanrimprotector.co.uk/

Seems like a good idea, but do they work?

Cheers

they are only really going to protect your rims from slight brushes

my Dad used similar looking Alloy Gators and they blended in nice and did protect his wheels from a few kerb incidents but when he got new tyres and they were removed the alloy gators had actually lightly marked the alloys all the way around!

Not sure if it was the way he put them on or a faut with the product!

Pretty much as above.

BBS do them for the CH-R's I believe. Recently read this about them:-

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies and thanks MC71 for the interesting link.

Didn't really work that well, did it? Although it did a good job of hiding the damage afterwards.

I still think they are a good idea and I'm surprised they are not more popular. Even if they only work for minor scuffs, that's better than wrecking those nice diamond cut Monzas, surely?
