Title: Enging squeeling ( timing belt tensioner??)

as above my enine is squealing and what ive read is that it is the timing belt tensioner???

heres the video

Mine was squealing like a pig..but had the cambelt,water pump & tensioners done a few days ago and not heard any noise since

Mine would squeal quietly on start / cold start. New cambelt / WP and it went away :)

Definitely the tensioner ,  its a well known issue when the belt needs replacing. Replace the cambelt , tensioner and waterpump with oem parts  :happy2:

Mines does This sometimes when pulling away from a standstill. Only sometimes tho. Same problem u think

One thing I will say just for reference, but doesn't seem the case with yours is I have had a problem on my old mk4 where the tensioner was flapping like crazy. You would only here a chirp from the belt when on full look or as the engine loaded up.

I changed the tensioner and it went away for a day or so then came back. Finally found out that it was the alternator pulley. It has a slipper clutch mechanism built into it which had seized.
