Title: Did the Mk 5 gti ever have a silver ashtray cover?

Did the Mk 5 gti ever have a silver ashtray cover and surround bit where the esp and tyre pressure buttons are?

I've got the tray in silver but not the surround. See them on ebay sometimes.

Are the lids aluminium or plastic?

And the ashtray surround, we're they aluminium or plastic?

They are aluminium look plastic not real aluminium,i think the very first GTis had tem then it stopped.

............my first 05 reg GTI had it,very nice it looks too.Shame they kept it for the R32 & took it off the GTI. VW should have re-fitted it to the ED30.

I have just fitted the brushed Aluminium one in my ED30, should have been in there from the start. PITA to fit though.

Yup mines like that but it is an early '05. Its nice touch but I'd like a silver surround too.
