Title: Petrol in a jetta 2.0 tdi 140 (help)
Post by: N44LED on August 07, 2012, 02:27:05 pm
Hi guys just got a phone call off my girlfriends mum saying that the cars cut out and just found out she's put petrol in it but only a tenners worth from quarter full.

Just wanted to know what needs to be changed to try and fix it I pretty know much the basics like drain the tank filters and drain the fuel lines just not sure how to drain the tank, lines and which filters  and if the injectors will need replacing or if we can try and get away with out changeing them.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thank you

Aled

I done this last year with my Bora PD130. Got it towed and had the tank pumped out as well as an egine flush. Used a few tanks of premium fuel and worked fine. I dont think I'd want to try putting more diesel in although other people I know have done this, stuck in some premium diesel and after two tanks of use has been fine. Not sure of the long term damage it may cause though???

Fill the tank full of diesel and it will be fine.
