:chicken: :fighting:
So at lunch time i notice that out of all the cars in the company carpark, not a tree in sight, that a bird has taken a MASSIVE dump on my bonnet. three big servings.
i have tried to clean it off now, as usual but nothing seems to be working!! it looks like its ruined the lacquer/paint :scared:
Anyone got any special methods, tips or tricks?
Thanks.
Sam

What did you use to get it off? Polish it out?
-
just my regular zip wax soap and water and a sponge.. i tried a slightly more abrasive sponge but nothing!
its like no bird poo I've ever seen before, its like the birds been drinking nitromorse!!
-
Birds been eating something it shouldn't
Hope you have some luck getting it off matey.

Machine polish mate it's the only way.
Also make sure you always have your car wax sealed !

Yeah? I guess i need to buy one of them then.. Bet they dont come cheap! Could make my car ultra shiney forever after though :P
Im not a massive detailer tbh, i feel guilty because i love my car. So wax sleaing you just mean waxing it right? I should devote more time to detailing i guess

I had the same problem at the beginning of the year. The bird lime went through the top layer of lacquer there was nothing I could do. So I took it to a bodyshop as I wanting something else doing and they wet sanded it and buffed it out.

Ouch!
For reference: as recommended wax your car (after washing it) and build up some protective layers for your car's paintwork. This way if a bird dumps on your car again you'll be able to easily remove it. Even if you don't spot it for a few days you'll be much safer than no wax.
I carry a bottle of Quick Detailing spray in the car - spray this on bird poo and leave to agitate for a minute or two and any bird poo will just wipe off. But please wipe off with a microfibre cloth, not a sponge and definitely not an abrasive sponge...

If a bird squeezes out a fat one on my car as long as i wash it off that day i never get any problems sometimes if its on for a week or so it can etch the top coat it happend once to me, never again !!

If i catch birds pooing on my car i fetch the rifle!! :happy2:

As others have said , spend some time on taking care of the paint. If you build up several layers of a good wax then dirt and especially bird poo will just wipe away with no lasting damage.
And please invest in some microfibre cloths and a wash mitt and ditch the sponge :happy2:
