Evening all,
Is it possible to completely remove the red stripe on the front of a 2005 GTI?
Mine is quite faded and needs a proper clean and polish.
Cheers :happy2:

Yes it just unclips front the front grill, I really want mine silver...

Cool, I assume the grille has to come off first though?

Yes mate 4 screws and the lot comes off. Then with a small flat blade screwdriver carefully prise the stripe away from the grille. You can see the lugs from the rear.
E30DOM, it's sssssooooo easy to change the colour of the stripe.
Simply buy a roll of 1" go-faster stripe in silver. Then when you have removed the red plastic stripe give it a good clean with meths.
Take you time and stick the silver stripe onto the red making sure you fold it over the back edges. Then simply trim off the excess with a Stanley blade.
Clip back in the grille and fit to car. Job done.
