Evening all,
I've just fitted my BSH intake. Fitted all ok and double checked.
Just started it up and gave it a few revs sounded great. Went back out switched engine on and reversed out the garage then the engine light came on. Just went for a drive and all seems well.
Any ideas what could be the cause? I can't scan it until Monday.
Car is fully standard bar the intake.
P.s BSH is running a larger cone filter it that makes any difference?
Cheers

Have you got the blank fitted securely mate?
Sounds like it maybe pulling air between the airflow meter and the turbo.
Is the airflow meter fitted the correct way round so measuring the air coming in? Is the flow meter tight and connected ok?
The size of filter makes no difference mate.
Even if you ran the car without the filter on it would not cause the light to come on.

Did you reconnect the MAF?
-
Yea everything is tight and maf plugged in. It's also the right way up.
Could it be down to more airflow throwing the light on and it might go off once it's adapted.
It seems to drive exactly the same also.
-
Maybe but doubtful unless it's picked up because it's too lean.
Get it scanned. :happy2:

Never heard of that before.
Suppose you won't know till you get it scanned but there's no way an intake should cause the light to come on.
-
It could also be a coincidence as my engine light has been on a few times due to a purge valve fault. So hopefully just that.
Like I said drives ok and sounds great so fingers crossed its nothing to do with the intake!
Thanks for your replies guys :happy2:

I ran the intake on my car and had no issues whatsoever.
If I had I wouldn't have sold it mate.
Keep us posted on your scan results.
As above there's nothing in an intake to cause a problem. If the MAF is fitted properly and connected and there's no air leaks it has to be something else.
Good luck.

Yea I know it's nothing to do with the actual intake mate. Its perfect and just how you described it. Also very well packaged. Thank you.
Will let you know how I get on.

Well i done 360 miles over the weekend and the car was spot on!
Read the fault code this morning which was P0010. Cam sensor related issue.
Upon inspection it looks as if I've disturbed the cam sensor when pulling the engine cover off. I've refitted it and cleared the codes so will see how I get on.

Glad you got sorted mate.
I drove my car for the first time without the intake on Saturday and I miss the extra power it gave.
The noise it made is a love and hate thing when your in the mood it sounded great but other times it annoyed me.
I'm on the look out for an enclosed intake so gain some power without the noise.
Glad your happy mate.
