Title: cover for passenger footwell / underseat
Post by: jedi-knight83 on August 11, 2012, 04:54:09 pm
Under the drivers seat there is a plastic cover (1K0971813C).

I've searched through ETKA but cannot find a cover for the passenger side anywhere.

Any ideas?

Part number 20 on here...

That doesn't look like a cover for the seat tbh

part number 20 on that page is the cover that goes over the bluetooth module if installed of FM modulator if installed.

basically im putting amps under my seats and want them hidden. The drivers side is perfect and the amp sits under the cover... but i want a cover for the passenger side too.

I think i've found one for a mk6 so i'll have to order it and hope it fits / modify it if needed.

Strange as the carpet in my car has the cut away bits so it looks like its designed for something to be fitted there but cant see anything on etka.

This is the USA version of etka, and as you can see the yanks fit the Bluetooth module under the passenger seat so it's the same as our drivers seat one.

Doesn't look like there is one for the other side  :ashamed:

Anyway here is the pic....

I found another diagram showing another metal bracket. (like on your diagram) This looks like it should go under our passenger seat, but it's not list on the etka PDF???

Also they don't show a cover for it.

It's Part no 16. What does it say on your etka for number 16???

I found that other bracket too. Its for a cd changer.

I found a part number for a 'cover' that looks about right. Its from a 2010 golf.

1k0971813B

This is the same as the number for the drivers cover (just with a different letter) so makes sense it might be the correct thing.

Shown here look as part 77

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jimellisvwparts.com%2Fimages%2Fparts%2FVW%2Ffullsize%2F420035350.jpg&hash=4fde401e5e43689fb2004c4c5b53123d6800c510)

Its to cover an OEM amplifier.

Should do the trick.

Im not going to bother with the metal cage as the amp only just fits in the space anyway so it will be Velcro'd and strapped down and i'll then velcro this cover to the top of it.

I have this part in my car, no idea what's under it ? However my trim is beige, the part number generally has the colour code on the end so might be worth trying with your local parts dept, I can get you the number should you want it ?

perfect. I actually ordered one the other day in black but they are on back order with no known delivery date  :fighting:

VWs ordering system is really terrible.
