Hi Just seen this on eBay.

There is a listing on ebay for a Version C and it says, "Will fit cars with old CAN Gateways and will not cause battery drain". Is this true? My GTI is a 2005.

Says it takes 10min to fit, take it they have the GPS chip built in?

It will probably have a modified firmware to prevent the battery drain. The GPS will be a a plug in mini puck type thing that will sit somewhere in the dash
