Hi guys
Just putting the word out...
Been broken into at 2am this morning and had our car key stolen (thankly we are ok).
Would appreciate it if you could keep your eyes out for the following 2 cars around the NORTH WEST..... They were taken from Bolton so could be anywhere around this area.
M14OLT (05) - Black 3 Door MK5 Golf GTI, 18 inch Monza 2's, R32 smoked rears
C18BEC (07) - Silver 3 Door MK5 Golf GT TDI, 18 inch Charlestons, Full Leather
If anyone see's them please either contact the police, PM or email me at mark.holt@hotmail.co.uk
Thanks guys, bad news but myself and the wife are ok (just a little shaken) and thats what only matters :)
Mark

Good to hear your safe
LETS HOPE THE DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH IN THE NEAR FUTURE  :fighting:
-
Been there mate so I understand. :grouphug:
-
So sorry to hear of this! I'll keep my eyes peeled fon any Golfs I see...
-
thanks guys, yeah the main thing is that we are both safe.... if there willing to come into my bedroom for the keys then they are willing to do anything.
totally gutted, feels surreal!
glad i took out GAP insurance now!
-
Mate, i am glad you and your wife are safe but that is awful!
-
OMG glad your OK!!!!
Im actually getting a little worried now as they all seem to be getting nicked from the north west!!
-
Sorry to hear that Mark, will certainly keep an eye out.
-
yeah been there too , you and wife ok is the important thing though :happy2:
I'll re-iterate it again here, as joe says the North West (but probably everywhere) is rife for GTI/R32/S3 theft at the moment.
Be careful out there folks :grouphug:
-
Glad you are ok mate.
-
Oh man. Sorry to hear. As said at least you are both ok, the cars can be replaced. What is so wrong with some peps, go get a fooking job!!! :fighting:
-
Gutted for you Holty, will keep an eye out :happy2:
-
Gutted for ya, but glad you're OK.
Did you say they came up to the bedroom for the keys??! :surprised:
-
sorry to hear about that mate,
Can I ask how they got in?
At work on the last 6 weeks just when I have been on shift we have had 3 persuits involving GTI's, very desireable cars to steal, and they don't stand out too much on the roads.
Hope they manage to find it for you.
-
Hope they get :fighting:. least ur both ok! what happened to thiefs hot wireing cars, rather than coming into our homes and puting us in danger aswell! there all scum!
-
Sorry to hear it mate, the main thing is that you and your wife and unharmed and the cars are insured. There are plenty more Golfs out there to replace them with.
Did they sneak up to your room and take the keys from there? Personally that would freak me out, so my keys stay downstairs.
Big Al, sounds like you have my dream job!
-
This is getting ridiculous these people clearly have no regard for anyone or their property. The stupid thing is if they threaten you or your family you cant do anything or you will be the one in court.
Im glad you are both safe, it sounds terrifying.
I hope the police are doing a good job and they catch the scum.
-
sorry to here this :( at least your safe thats the main thing
-
Dunno what happened to my post.
Mate, that's just sickening. Glad to hear you're okay.

I know what your saying but that isnt entirely true, i speak to a lot of people who think the same thing, the fact is you can protect yourself in your own home and you shouldnt be scared to. As long as its 'necessary' (which it would be in this situation) and 'proportionate' then you can do what you need to do!!
-
unlucky mate some pics would help too..
in fact today we got a leaflet from the police warning us that theives are targetting cars in our area :scared:
but i live in lowton :|
-
Sorry to hear that. Like the others have said, it is good you are all okay. I wouldn't like to have been in your shoes and hope I never am.
Pictures would definitely help. Have the cars any specific ID scrapes/ dents/marks on them?
-
my car keys live on my window sill in my bedroom, the theif would need to walk past me round the bed and get them,
good job mr shotgun lives under the bed
-
Sorry to hear this... just awful for you.
The reason I've got my ED30 now is because my colleagues house got broke into 3 times trying to get it....
1st time was when he was away on holiday with the car, they came in for the spare key.
2nd time was the day he got back, they stormed the door and didn't realise he was in, he chased them down the road!
3rd time was after he moved house as a direct result of the first 2 times, the car was on the drive but he'd gone to work in partners car and took the key with him.
After that time he just drove the car to work next day and left it there.
I just can't believe how brazen these gits are nowadays...
-
cheers guys for all your comments, still a little in shock here to be honest feels like a dream (a bad one!)
basically they have hopped over my garden gate, removed a flag from my patio (a large one - about 20kgs?) and then thrown it at my patio window about 6 times to get in. during this time, my wife was on the blower to the cops and i was holding the bedroom down awaiting them to come upstairs....
then i saw the light come on and heard them shouting "give me the f*cking keys" they barged the door and i had no option but to hand over the keys (not worth getting stabbed or whatever - i am sure they would of been tooled up). was 2 hoodied blokes and 1 down stairs waiting....
scary sh*te!
house is all secure now, just have an empty driveway now :(
cops chased them but a fiesta was no match!!
-
they sent a panda car to chase 2 high end cars..
f*cking retatds :angry015:
-
I don't think its a case of 'sending' a panda car, its more down to who responds to the job, my shift has 5 peugeots, 2 focus's
and2 vectras, the only high end cars are the traffic which have 1 volvo or 1BMW 5 series. Its not a case of size up the car your persuing and match it Benny.
I know everyone else has said it, that you and the wife are ok, but you still have 20K of car missing.
We have an English bull terrier that lives downstairs, I know if they wanted to do anything he isnt going to stop them, but he does make a noise which is hopefully enough to scare them off, or at least wake me up enough to get my foot long maglite ready. (coincidentally, he did go mad last night at something, and then today my side gate was open, be vigilant people)
good luck getting everything sorted.
-
the gits, there was me looking at the GTi instead of a Focus ST because of not wanting the attention, i've got to admit i'd leave the keys downstairs, I don't with the audi but would with something else. If they are prepared to break into a house almost certainly knowing people are there then they are stupid enough to do anything. I hope you get sorted soon, just don't let it put you off having another nice car.
-
feel for you mate, that is awful.
I cannot begin to believe how you must of felt.
someone needs to grab this country by the nuts & sort these kind of low lifes out.
All the Best & chin up bud
Paul
-
Really scary...!!
Hope you get it sorted out mate.

hey al sorry bout that mate sometimes i dont think before i post.
:signIWS:
-
Don't worry about it mate, I just get overy defensive of the guys, I appreciate that tensions are high over the situation.
-
This is very shocking to read and a wake up call if anyone needed one!
My opinion is I would do all in my power to stop them and have taken the necessary steps should this situation ever face me! I had an attempted break in a few months back and told the Police in no uncertain terms what I'd do if they got in my house. He just said 'fair play' and smiled!
Glad to hear your ok and I hope you get your cars back in one piece! :happy2:
-
I had an attempted break in a few months back
:surprised:
And I thought you lived in a nice, quiet area too! This is why I wanna leave the centre of Brum and move to a nicer area in the outskirts.

It tends to be the 'nicer' quieter area's that are targetted Stealth.
Some scally tried to climb over my gate and as it's rotten it collapsed and woke a neighbour. I'd love it if they tried it again!
-
After my Octavia was taken I asked the nice Policeman if I could have a quiet word if they found them.
He just smiled at me and didn't say anything.
I have a 18 inch Maglite to explain how wrong the intruders are.

I reckon seeing your shadow in the door way would be enough. :scared: :scared: :scared: :signLOL:

OMG, this is some scary shizz! I am pleased to hear you are all ok but F me I would have cacked me pants! I really must get tooled up just incase. Fortunately for me my car is hidden away in the garage, out of sight, out of mind I hope! :scared:
-
sorry to hear this, good luck with everything :happy2:
-
Glad your both are ok,
as ive said before, all our keys (2x cars 1x bike) are in a pot on the third stair up. i dont want my nearest n dearest to be harmed in any way.
our side gate has a lock on it, plus on the top of the gate and fence in that area, ive plastered that black anti vandle grease,
and tons of copper slip, at least we'd know (if caught) who it was. (cheaper than smart water)
id love to wire in a little kill/cut switch to immo it.

Does make you wonder what would happen if you had used a Revo Select/Select Plus and put the car in anti-theft mode, would hate to think that things could get nasty! Just makes you realise the realities that lie out there.
-
This is really bad news! Sorry to hear it!
I literally wouldn't help these people if I saw them dieing! Let me check my watch, ahh yes, I have absolutely no time for them at all!
I always take the keys up into my room at night like Joe. Plus the hockey stick is on hand should they not know what time it is and need reminding! Luckily I have no children to worry about, but maybe if you do that may not be the best plan!
-

That could work out well for those who want to get revenge...sneak down with big maglite while they're trying to start it and unleash hell!
If only we had the right to defend our property...
-

Batter them senseless and find someone with a pig farm.
Anyway we seem to be detracting from the op. Any news?
-
Sorry to hear this matey, a very similar thing happened to a friend of mine a while ago apart from his wife tried to tackle the thieves and got knocked out after a heavy blow to the head! :angry015: :angry015: These people really are ruthless and its not worth bothering them, just let them get on with it, the car can be replaced :happy2:
I am not far from Bolton mate I will be defo keeping my eyes peeled :happy2:
-
They need to catch these scumbags, but then they sometimes they get let off! (mostly down to not enuff space in the prisons, easy answer, build more prisons!!, plenty of places in the country 4 it, but then the Government would rather spend the cash on themselves!)
-
Putting people in prison only teaches them new ways to commit crime.
If I was in charge, I'd chop their hands off.

Just a quick update....
Just heard that the cars was spotted by a ANPR camera in the Middleton area at 2:30am so it looks like where heading Manchester way....
Also we had the SOCO team over yesterday with there magic dust - no finger prints on the glass just glove marks :( Although there was blood on my banister that they have managed to get a sample off! fingers crossed they are in the DNA database so at least one of the barstewardss gets nailed!
Didnt manage to sleep much last night - although i had a golf club next to me ready if they decided to come back and take the 206 GTI :embarrassed: that i am borrowing off the drive!

excellent news mate, never going to get fingerprints from crims nwadays, but I would say 99.9% they will be on the database with teh blood taken, doubt very much that these are first time criminals.
Have you managed to resecure your home since it happened, sounded like they made a bit of a mess of it,
-
i think it bad that the police hold all the dna of people though,
ive been arrested (not charged) so they have my dna even though i didnt do anything :sad1:
-
Can I ask where the cars were kept at night, on the drive? If not it suggests you were followed home which is even scarier!! :surprised: Hope they catch the scumbags!

you can request to have it taken off the system, but don't know how easy it is to do, find your force head office and speak with them.

Yeah both on the drive back to back with each other, my wife thinks she got followed a few weeks back when she was on her way home at midnight after her shift in my car (same job as big al ) - really hope not but you never know.

Hopefully matey, should get the results back within a week so hope there is a match! House is as secure as it can be until tomorrow when we get the new window in. Ended up getting it boarded up straight away. Was listening out for every noise last night so absolutely knackered now!

I think they should be allowed to keep it, if you don't break the law you won't have an issue
-
Any update on what happened with your stolen car smate?
-
F88k me, this thread has made me think twice about getting an R32/GTI !
Hope they've got the barstewardss by now.

It's certainly worrying :scared:
I live on a very quiet cul-de-sac but last night around 11:45 whilst watching my ususal dose American Chopper I heard a car on the road, I looked out of the window and there was a gang of lads (not friendly looking ones either) with their windows down going past my drive verrryyy slowly garing at my S3. At the turning point at the bottom they turned round and stopped with their car facing mine all having a good look at it, they then drove off down the road again, again doing the same thing, driving very slowly garing at my car. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep last night. I usually put my car in the garage but it ain't possible at the moment as it is full of junk that will be there for another month or so :chicken: Little bit worrying :scared:
-
I scared my fiancee to death telling her about this as we have just got the Mk5 GTI.
I sleep with an official police issue extending baton by the side of the bed. If this ever happened, im hoping the dog would wake up and let us know about it first so i could be prepared for the barstewardss!!!

You do know those batons are illegal don't you, think if you did attack someone with it you would find yourself getting in a bit of trouble.
But htey are damn effective weapons!!!
-
I dont care tbh. It never leaves the house. Someone breaks in and risks me using it, then thats their problem.
-
Just a update on this!
Looks like the cars are well gone! No match on the blood either but it's on the system so if they matched it in the future they would know they did the job at my house too!
Ended up spending abit on the house getting the security upgraded quite a bit! Worth it in the long run, but i guess that if they want to get in they will!
Also bought 2 new motors! A brand MK6 Golf GTD (for the misses) and a MK5 GTI 07 plate for me! Kind of wish i had held out for an ED30 but i really needed something and got a good deal buying the 2 cars at the same time from VW! Gap insurance was a must!!
happy days!
-
Glad you got it all sorted in the end matey and look on the bright side, you have come out of it with two brand new cars :happy2: :happy2:
-
Nice to hear things are working out for you! :happy2:
-
get some pics of the GTD up mate! ;) glad to here youve got two new cars!
-
something positive at last :happy2:
-
just had some kid ring me of a 01132 number asking if i still had a 2.0t fsi engine for sale, when i said no he asked if i wanted to buy one, he told me he bought the engine by mistake and thought it was a 1.8t engine, , i could tell the engine came out of a stolen car by the way he was talking, could be out of your car, i can forward the number if u want, and you could ring him posing to buy the engine, also could ask if he has any bits as you have smashed your black golf gti up :happy2:
-
just checke the 01132 area code, and its leeds

Nick, a better idea would be to call your police station and give them the number, they can check it on the database and see who owns it, and also check for any previous crime history, failing that call crimestoppers and give the info anonymously, save getting the OP involved in doing their own detective work after a pretty stressful few weeks.
