Went out today (for cake & coffee!) with a friend and his girlfriend who's from the US. I've never met her before, but she drives a grey Mk5 GTI in Washington! Manual too! She said she went for the GTI specifically because it was built in Wolfsburg, whereas standard US Golfs are built in Mexico. Quite a cool girl!
I didn't know they still built VWs in Mexico (I suppose that's the point of my thread!).
