I need some new Closed Back headphones to use when i'm in the office for both noise cancellation and listening to music. More the latter. My budget is £50 but would like to keep to the lower end of the scale.
Currently looking getting some AKG K450

Any others worth looking at?

Basically any that fit your buget from the big headphone names.. AKG, Sennheiser, Audio Technica.
Dont go for scene headphones.

Marshall Majors :happy2:
or save a few more pennies and get some Grado's
-
Problem is that grados are not great for sound isolation. But yes, they are very good headphones.

Are they sennheiser 300? They are brilliant, and fairly cheap.

Sennheiser MX980.
Can't do the in-ear CX300 types as they give me earache but the MX980's are so comfy and sound awesome.

I was in Southampton Saturday afternoon and spotted at least 60 people with those dam things on. One guy was playing a guitar at the same time.
I think i am of theat age (38) where they just seem like overpriced/hyped w@nk!

Yep CX300. I have 3 or 4 pairs now but not any at work :)
-
Ohh they are. I've tried them back to back with good headphones and they sound abysmal!!!
Scene headphones...
-
beats by dre - there are better headphones on the market for much less.
thats why i went for the urbanears headphones. they have loads of great reviews, excellent sound quality and decent price too

They are still a form over function headphone though. Just the name suggests that. They probably cost about 50p to make and have poor drivers.
To be honest Ant... if you can wear the CX300s with no discomfort then they are you best bet for sound isolation and good sound quality. They are also very light so you wont end up with neck ache from wearing 500gs of headphones on your head. :signLOL:

For general use the CX300 are brilliant but i wanted over the ear headphones to keep in the office. The AKG K450's arrived this morning and Muse - Madness sounds sublime!
