Need some help guys.
I have over heating issues. Car temp gets to 90 no worries, sits there for a while then starts to rise slowly. Both fans kick in, temp hovers just over 90, then continues to rise. I have to stop and let engine cool down. I also have hot air blowing out of my drivers vent, whilst driving. The temp is on high but the heater is switched off, if i put the temp on cool even with heater switched off it still comes out.
Oil is good, and no gunk
Coolant is correct level and type.
System been presurised and no leaks.
Both fans kick in fine, and stay on when i stop to cool down engine.
Rad is warm so i know the coolant is getting into the rad, and pipe leaving the rad is warm too.
Thermostat was changed in april. (but i suspect this may be faulty and not opening only thing i can think of as car was ok b4 this changed.)
Not sure what else to think of. If i leave car sitting then temp dosnt go over 90, can only get it to rise higher when driving at speed on motorway.
Any one have any ideas?
Cheers guys and girls.

Thanks guys yeah i am thinking thermostat again, i will be checking with garage to find out where they got it from, should have been gen parts!!

If you have access to a vagcom get them to check what the temperature sensor is doing - could be a simple information fault or a lazy switch or water pump impeller fault!

Not really clued up on the cooling system, When should the fans kick in? Mine kick in when temp gets to about 96, when stationary but also come on whilst driving. now i thought the air cools down the engine whilst driving and fans only kick in when temp gets a lot higher, is sat in traffic?
