Post by: foxyp on August 21, 2012, 08:46:32 pm
Evening, does anyone know if gti brakes can just bolt onto the tdi hubs or do I have to get gti hubs like on a mk4?

If so could anyone please tell me which hubs i can get?

any help would be great

Cheers
Rob

Pretty sure they will go straight on to the standards hubs.

Some people just put the GTI carriers on as i think the actual caliper is the same. The carrier just allows you to run a bigger disc.

You'll need to change the hubs on a 280mm disc 1.9TDI, it is the 2.0 TDI with 288mm discs that uses the same calipers but different carriers to a GTI.

both hubs and front suspension needs changing, your hubs uses 50mm struts and the ones on the 2,0 TDI with 288mm discs has 55mm as the gti and all the other Mk 5, it's up hill mate  :sad1:

Thank you for all the help... Looks like I'll have to get the hubs and wait till I get my new suspension :)
