Sorry to be an absolute plank but what is the best card and the correct card for the RNS unit is it called a SD Card   tia

It will only accept SD cards

Older ones don't like big cards if you have newer one any size is fine. 12 GB for new 4 GB for a version b ?

SDHC to 32GB should be fine.
